TOMMY V! Good Tour for the French animators!

And poor form by Contador, IMHO. There are a lot of posters whose opinions I respect who are supporting Contador's ride today, but I don't like it. Sorry guys. I would have liked to have seen him wait. (This is assuming Contador knew what had happened.)

The 2010 Tour de France has already had enough action and controversy to ensure it goes down as a classic.

I have to say at the outset I don't mind whether AC or AS wins this year. Now there is no option- Schleck must throw caution to the wind on the 2 Tourmalet stages and go for it rather than all the bluffing & mind games of the last 2 days. It's either that or hang out the white flag.

well at least we have a real rivalry instead of a friendly rivalry, I want to see what AC has to say, both were wrong Schleck for attacking when Ac was at the back of the group(I guess he learned from Cancellara) and Alberto for not pushing forward

I wonder if the French crowd would dare to boo the yellow jersey ?

Contador's been riding like a scared chicken the whole tour because he knows he's not as strong as last year. He didn't have the balls or clout to wait or slow down Menchov and Sanchez, but he could have waited to help AS.

I lost my respect for Alberto today.

But today's event also taught us that Contador is scared ****less for what Schleck will do to him on the tourmalet. Contador no longer has the confidence that he can beat Andy on thursday and that is why he deliberately took advantage of Andy's mechanical today.

Clockwise Alberto has the advantage. Psychologically Andy has the advantage.

The audience are booing Contador as he puts on the yellow jersey. This is just sad.

Andy just interviewed:
"I will get my revenged on tourmalet. You can count on it"

Well, it's just too bad, is what it is.

Andy just interviewed: 'it's not up to me to determine whether or not it's fair... myself, I would not have raced that way'

(on the verge of tears) 'my stomach is full of anger and I will get my revenge'.

Sounds like he's motivated.

So he's a cry-baby, I should not be surprised.

BTW - my ignore list is getting full. Can someone control BPC please.

Geeezus,

Some of you people are hilarious.

By your "rules" the race would be a pleasant little tea party with one person wearing yellow all the way and riding in to Paris with 100 virgins scattering confetti.

It's a race. If the Saxo mechanics F up or the rider F's up on a shift, then you keep racing. F'ing up is your own damn fault and the rest of the race doesn't sit up and wait for you because you're stupid or ham-handed.

It's a race.

Were the shoe on the other foot.............. oh wait .........................

You watch football? You know this thing that is "polite" to do when
an opponent gets injured but the referee doesn't blow his whistle?

These little things are called sportsmanship

I think one of the big things that played out today is how significant the loss of Frank is to Andy. Instead of sitting their fiddling with his chainring, he could have immediately switched bikes and not lost the additional time fiddling with the chainring. If something had happened to Contador, he had a teammate with him

I don't really understand this. When Cancellara attacked Boonen in PR the consensus was that Boonen should have been more attentive. Schleck attacking Contador when Contador drifted too far back is IMO a good racing ploy. Contador attacking Schleck during a mechanical is IMO a bit cheesy.

EDIT: Andy seems to agree (natch)

Well of course Andy is going to agree. He didn't have a problem with taking advantage of Frank's crash on Stage 3 because it played to his advantage. This time the incident worked against him.

Just saw an interview with AS, he stated: Well that's cycling, and he is very angry at the attacks from AC and DM. I will have my revenge on Tourmalet.!

I must say i have never seen him more motivated so i hope we are in for some great stages now

This might be the end of their friendship and hunting together.

Ye I actually saw an interview with AS last night where he said how much he respected AC as a person ever more then as a cyclist, I guess now he hates him less as a person then he does as a cyclist :p.

BroDeal - your prediction of 20 minute loss for Wiggins was looking good, but he has already managed it with 2 mountain stages to go :(

The Tormalet will really kill him, but I would not be surprised if he gets dropped tomorrow on the Aubisque and the others ride into Pau without him. Huge time loss in that case. That was one of my original predictions. People laughed.

AC Fanboy????:D

No, just don't like Andy. Personally, I wish SS or Menchov were in the lead.

I went back and watched, and Andy attacked when Contador was at the back. He OBVIOUSLY was not back there because he was struggling. Andy saw that and decided to attack. Someone needs to ask the little whiner why he attacked when Contador was at the back? It is one thing to attack someone when they are at the back because they are falling off, and quite another if he were back for another reason, which is the case there.

And excuse me if I find Andy's comment about him not racing if it were him laughable. He didn't wait on stage 3.

This is going to be the second tainted tour win from AC. He only won in 2007 because the yellow jersy was pulled out, and now he is gifted a win by a chain falling off.

What is wrong with some of you?

You're blaming Schleck for attacking when Contador was at the back of the group?!? NOBODY forced Contador to go there. If he was there, it was a tactical mistake and Schleck took advantage of it.

Should Cancellara not have attacked when Boonen was at the back in P-R? Seriously, people, stop with the BS defense of Contador.
