Gesink's form seems to be pretty ok after the rest day. And while Hesjedal has the form of his life, 2'40" is a bit much IMHO.

Well the gaps in this itt so far are inmense and gesink really sucks this year in itt. Although Hesjedal hasn't proven to be that good either yet.

Gesink has done one longer TT this year. Yes, it was bad, but apparently he did some specific training since then.

Some big gaps are definitely going to be possible amongst the top 10

Half the field losing well over 7 minutes at this point and if the wind increases as forecast it's only going to get harder

True, if the wind gets harder and the speed gets lower (headwind) the gaps become higher.

If it was tailwind the differences would be much much smaller.

Shouldn't affect the GC contenders. They will all have the same conditions.

I mean, WTF? Harmon at it again. Chris Horner to out trial Roman Kreuziger for 9th spot.
So, based upon his Basque hilly, short, ITT, the Shack man will over hauled the more renowned trialist.

Cuddles is off! No..........no, I mean just the start ramp, ACF.:D

Very little posting today and yesterday........ do all these people who called themselves "fans of the tdf" all of last week actually only watch/post during the big mountain stages?

you don't understand what I'm getting at.

Lower speeds bring higher gaps even between the GC contenders.
A gap of 100 meter in low speed is a lot more in seconds than a gap of 100 meters in high speed. Same why a gap of 50 meter on the Zoncolan is huge, and a gap of 50 meter on a 4% climb is nothing.
You do understand that concept?

The differences between GC contenders are therefore higher with headwind than if there was tailwind.

Samuel Sanchez

Guys, sorry if I missed some piece of news or something, but does anyone of you know if Samuel Sanchez has some injury or pain after his crash during the Tourmalet stage? Or maybe he is perfectly OK now?

Cadel's peddling in the TT is very strange, he barely straightens his legs

Thanks for going a little more in depth with your explanation. Hadn't thought of it that way.

So it's interesting to see if the wind will get worse. It will influence the top differences and a gap of 3 minutes will suddenly not seem huge!

All things considered I'm with Harmon on this one
