I mean, WTF? Harmon at it again. Chris Horner to out trial Roman Kreuziger for 9th spot.
So, based upon his Basque hilly, short, ITT, the Shack man will over hauled the more renowned trialist.

Cuddles is off! No..........no, I mean just the start ramp, ACF.:D

Well, Kreuziger is not really a good time-trialist on longer TTs. He is great prologue specialist, mountain TTs specialist and on shorter, no more than 35 kms time trials. So, Harmon may be right.

Guys, sorry if I missed some piece of news or something, but does anyone of you know if Samuel Sanchez has some injury or pain after his crash during the Tourmalet stage? Or maybe he is perfectly OK now?

from the team website after stage 18:

El líder de Euskaltel Euskadi Samuel Sánchez ha superado la jornada con los dolores lógicos después de la peligrosa caída de ayer. Los fuertes golpes en pecho, clavícula y homoplato derecho le han molestado, pero el campeón olímpico ha pasado el día y mañana tendrá que dar el máximo en la lucha por un puesto en el cajón de París.

He is bruised up and has some pains from his fall, so it probably won't benefit his TT position. On the other hand, it is nothing 'serious' in the sense that he can't ride or not be competitive.

Sanchez himself said:

luchar a tope".

Sanchez is confident - he has been very consistent during the tour - and he believes the last TT of 50km depend much on how much you still have in the tank after 3 weeks. "without the fall it would have been better, but the situation is the way it is, and he'll have to fight as hard as he can"

Wiggins' helmet is quite ugly. Maybe he needs another color? It looks like an egg.

Where did Horner suddenly acquire a long, flat ITT pedigree?
Kreuziger has by far the better trialing position.

harmon has a point, no more, but mellow's reasoning seems more sound to me.
horner put his watts on display and they are respectable, he also showed fresh legs in stage 17. that could be important.

Thanks. That was very helpful indeed, cause my Spanish is almost nonexistent and I wouldn't have been able to find and read this myself. :)

Could be possible.
Although headwind doesn't suit 60kg Contador

62 kg contador or 65 kg schleck. just look at schlecks legs and contadors and tell me which one seem stronger. not to mention schleck is much taller which isn't in favor in the wind

I don't normally paint a Union flag on my eggs. Presumably there's an element of side winds on todays course, so the shorter track style helmet is more efficient.

Wouldn't be Versus without a series of untimely commercial breaks. Didn't get to see Vino leave the start house.

But i did get to see some vineyards and Nicholas Roche!

Well RK was 2nd in the World junior ITT, in 2004, but as you say, it's all about who has the legs today.
I've just never thought of CH as a long flat trialist.
Of course, he will probably prove me wrong and Harmon, right.

Wiggins 3rd fastest at the CP, but he will probably drop back.

These junior results are meaningless, VDB2 has been junior world champion on the TT. The longer the TT is, the more Kreuziger fades away. I'd give the edge to an old fox like Horner on this one.

I think it is more a question of recovery. And right now Horner seems to be better to me.

But, theoretically, yes, Kreuziger leads Horner 7-1 in the ITTs and should be better than Chris today, but TT on the 3rd week of the GT is just another matter. And Kreuziger was pretty average on a 40km TT last year, remember.
