Why does Leipheimer never get a sun tan?

Because he rides in the shadows of others

LOL.

Broken bones are nothing compared to a broken heart. ;)

Funny how every massive failure is chalked up to broken bones. I want to see the x-rays. Then I'll believe. Only then.

And if you see the X-ray how long will it take you to decide they're fake?

Still you're right, massive failure after crashes are often explained away by broken bones. Hmm, I wonder why that would be?

well, nice stage. too bad Denis lost around 50 secs after the Madeleine, i expected, that the margin at least won't grow. Lepheimer is stupid, if he didn't work with Menchov and Ges. that's something unexplainable. but anyway, Denis is the favourite for spot number 3. i don't believe Samu will survive in the 3rd week, he's killing himself right now.

I suspect Gesink is recovering from his injuries and may be stronger than Menchov right now. He may end up hanging tough with Andy and Alberto on the road to the Tourmalet, picking up some time on Menchov and Sanchez. Which will bring it down to the timetrial to work out which orange jersey gets to stand on the podium in Paris.

Yes, Gesink broke his arm.
But hey, that's cycling.

Indeed. With Liquigas a close second. :D

They did well today, Basso dragged Armstrong and JvdB to the line and managed to gain enough seconds on the Chezch rider chasing his bunch to push himself into 10th on GC...

So its ok for your precious Gesink to tell the world about his injuries but anyone else does and its suck it up , get over it.

It was not Cadel that broke the news and his tweets have been apologising for letting people down , some people in here really need to wake up and smell the roses

There's a line between funny and douchy. You passed it about 10 posts ago. It's a shame because you're a good poster 99% of the time.

Aww come on Mouse Knuckles don't be soo serious.

This myth thing about "toughness" is so old, so boring. They are all "tough" and extremely fragile. Some just know how to hide their fragility better than others, while Cadel is not in this group. To the contray, his fragility comes to the surface over, and over, again.

Being a "good poster" 99% of the time? The day I start worrying about my "image" here, in cyber-space, is the day I will be intlelectually kaput. And every once in a while a little irreverence, irony is a sign of keeping everything in proper perspective.

Cheers.

Exactly, he's done most of the first week with a broken ulna, which I suppose is healing up pretty nicely but of course it takes a dent out of your fitness. He says he felt he was the strongest of his group, certainly uphill, so I expect him and Sanchez to fight it out for third.

It's a pity the GC has been so shaken up with just two Alpine stages. Things were looking to be much tighter than usual, but Andy and Alberto already have daylight between them and the rest of the field.

NB: is this "sport" turning into a masochism contest? Next gladiators in coliseums with swords and chopping off arms. I'd just about had enough seeing Van Velde the other day.

Gesink had a broken wrist, not a broken arm

Riding with a broken wrist is next to impossible on a bike.
Clearly you have no clue.

i still worry about menchov, i can't see him or sanchez going for #3.

leipheimer or basso really i think, although it is still wide open. being wiggins fanboy #1 i hope he can pull it together and go into the final TT with a chance of a podium but i doubt it.

out of the current top 10 i think s sanchez can't timetrial, same with VDB and gesink.

menchov seems to **** up somehow, usually of his own making.

but what a great tour, i wanna see andy attack, attack, attack!!!!

go andy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

Can we please not have another aussie/dutch ****ing contest, this time about who's guy is hurt more?

Guys like Evans, Gesink and others who ride with pretty significant injuries all deserve respect. Why not shut up and leave it at that?

I think the person who wrote that was being sarcastic. I don't think he meant the Wuss thing to be taken seriously.

Sanchez can time trial pretty well, actually. Leipheimer and Basso don't stand a chance of finishing on the podium.

Yes, please. I second that.

Turning into?

This sport has always been this way. Only difference is the better medical attention and a way better treatment of the riders nowadays.

Lots of Cadel hate from the Dutch. Why? Gesink is in a great position coming into the harder mountains, where he will likely excel.

I think Gesink will separate himself from chaff like Leipheimer in the Pyrenees. I think he's looking good for a podium spot. He'll pass Sanchez, Leipheimer, and maybe VdB2. Not sure about Menchov.

Millar last man home. Riding with broken ribs.
Certainly a case of, fragile, handle with care, this year.
So many fractured riders.
At least Lance has only bruised his ego.

Umm, you might want to think back to the 2007 Vuelta, Stage 20, ITT, won by some Spainsh guy with a name that rhymes with Daniel Danchez.
