Correctomundo. “Lanterne rouge is not a position you go for,” Vansevenant told journalist Sam Abt in 2006. “It comes for you.”

Just gotta give you props on the j. Geils/Peter wolf references.

What's the name of the belgian rider who lost the yellow jersey in a similar way to Laurent Fignon on the last day of the Tour in a Timetrial? And to whom?

38 seconds

1968: Jan Janssen beat Herman Van Springel

After the Alps it was a very close race. Herman Van Springel led San Miguel by 12 seconds, Janssen by 16 and Bitossi by 58. It meant a big showdown in the final 55-kilometre time trial to Paris from Melun. Janssen beat Van Springel by 54 seconds to take the yellow jersey. San Miguel and Bitossi each lost more than three minutes.

I am going to assume I got this right, just to keep the thread moving. (Sorry in advance if I'm wrong).

Next question: Andy Schleck was runner-up 3 times, before being elevated to winner (something about beef). Raymond Poulidor was known as the eternal second after finishing in second 3 times. Who has the most 2nd place finishes in Le Tour?

Q: Before Galibier in 2011, which stage finish had the record of highest altitude? And before that one as well?

Val thorens 1994 -2275 meters?

Previously col du Granon?

EDIT: Q: Which dutchman was the last to actually be on the podium in Paris as either in the top 3 or winning one of the classifications?

Eddy Bouwmans - young rider 1992

I guess that's correct all though I don't believe they were on the podium back then. I was going for Steven Rooks in 1988 in polkadots. Anyway I assume you're correct, so you get to pose the next question
