What about col des Echarmeaux?

According to Wiki:
The first Tour de France crossed no mountain passes, but several lesser cols. The first was the col des Echarmeaux (712 m (2,336 ft)), on the opening stage from Paris to Lyon, on what is now the old road from Autun to Lyon. The stage from Lyon to Marseille included the col de la République (1,161 m (3,809 ft)), also known as the col du Grand Bois, at the edge of St-Etienne

That would be 25.5 because somewhere somehow he felt from his bike and abandoned at the exact middle of one stage.:eek: somehow.

Well done. maybe we should just let you run this thread solo!!
That is including rest days, right? The only number I could find was 96, but that was surely without rest days.

EDIT: Later I found this where it does say 111.

Q: Which year was the first where a mountain was classified HC?

Still I'd say 111 wins cause it was from memory and not from wiki.

Edit: 1979 (Galibier and Alpe d'Huez)?

Correct ;)

Btw i think i completely misunderstood your trick question but hey you got it right anyways.

I was only joking. I guess she's probably (and sadly) the most famous wife of a cyclist

Next up: The year with the lowest number of finishers? And the number of finishers if possible. Bonus points (but no prizes!) for the number of starters.
