True, they have never really been the same since the sad death of Portal.Ineos should find a DS-Coach in the mold of Portal or Tosatto if they really need to get better results during the coming season.
I've been enjoying the raft of United fans who were giving it the biggun about how it was a new dawn slowly coming to the realisation that cycling fans had years ago.
yeah, down with the little people getting a small bonus at christmas.Maybe if they'd spent the bonus money on the actual football team instead they wouldn't be in the situation they are now.
Lucky they get a bonus, many don't,I've been enjoying the raft of United fans who were giving it the biggun about how it was a new dawn slowly coming to the realisation that cycling fans had years ago.
Bah humbugyeah, down with the little people getting a small bonus at christmas.
I you look at how Man. U have thrown money at the wall, overpaying players that they didn't need for the last 10+ years the little bonus money is the least of their problems, most negative net transfer spending in all of Europe 2015-2024 (-1.3 billion, that's as much as Man City and Barca combined).Maybe if they'd spent the bonus money on the actual football team instead they wouldn't be in the situation they are now.
It's a 100k per year based on their 1000 employees. And is a symptom of the malaise not the cause, as was paying Fergie however many millions he was getting to be a club ambassador.I you look at how Man. Still waiting for the fans to start chanting "Brailford, you're the one!"...
He lists his core management values as “grit, rigor, humor, and good manners,” and has been said to pride himself on what has been described as a “very stable management team.”
Stability however, is the last word that most would use to describe his recent adventures in professional cycling, or in world football.
Is the harsh truth that a once-dominant cycling superpower has slowly become an almost forgotten backwater, making up the numbers in World Tour racing, picking up the odd stage win or one-day race here and there, but otherwise unable to attract the top talent, both on and off the bike?
If that’s the case then, for how much longer will Ratcliffe continue to bankroll a team in transition, given that Thomas also said, only last spring, that “Jim really wants to win the Tour.” In the era of Tadej Pogačar, that is an ambition that has never looked further out of reach.
Sir Jim gets the critical eye from Velo and it aint pretty -

Lefereve would be a kick in the pants. Given the talent of the squad, following a Wolfpack approach would be a welcome change from the mid-table GC focus. To sum up Velo's article on Ineos, it seems that Sir Jim has made the classic mistake twice of buying at the top just as things start to go downhill and then not puting in the necessary work to get back to the top. It's not though like the man does n't have the money. Maybe Sir Jim needs a Patrik Lefereve type figure to shake things up.
I know it's probably bad form but Egan Bernal has contract through 2026, and again not to insult anyone, but he is being overpaid. Tom Pidcock paid little under @$3 million euros reported was much better for sponsor profile. To sum up Velo's article on Ineos, it seems that Sir Jim has made the classic mistake twice of buying at the top just as things start to go downhill and then not puting in the necessary work to get back to the top. It's not like he bought United at the top, let's be real...To sum up Velo's article on Ineos, it seems that Sir Jim has made the classic mistake twice of buying at the top just as things start to go downhill and then not puting in the necessary work to get back to the top. How much did he pay for his stake? It's not like he bought United at the top, let's be real...
How much did he pay for his stake?
Perhaps not sporting-wise, but what is the valuation of the club and how will that valuation continue to fare. That will determine if he bought at the "top". You never really know until some time has passed.
Sure Sir Jim might not have got his share of Man Utd at the top (heck, I remember them going down to the old division 2 years ago) but over paying for a team that's past it's best seems a common theme.
One can only dream, there's still 5 months left in the season, and stranger things have happened.
UAE just assembled a full train of their best riders to barely beat the KOM time of Danish toddler led out by some part time liberal arts students from the local university. Honestly more impressed with this Øxenberg character more than anything, can't wait to see him in action!

His last race for the British team was June’s Critérium du Dauphiné as the Director of Racing unexpectedly did not appear at the Tour de France. Sources close to the situation told Cycling Weekly at that time that his absence was in part due to his apparent fractured relationship with team leader Tom Pidcock. Pidcock said at the race’s team presentation that he felt Ineos would be "better" without Cummings there.
“The team decided to take me off the race. Like when you’re not selected as a rider, it’s just a decision you respect,” he said. “I guess they thought it was in the best interest of the team. And then you start to look elsewhere.” ... Cummings said that the team “didn’t really give him a reason” for his omission. Was that frustrating? “I think there are obviously moments when it’s frustrating, but you just try to be resilient, accept it and move on,” he said.
