Three monuments so far, best placed finisher: 33rd at MSR, 51st at RVV and 21st at Roubaix…
August with a great stage win in old school nasty conditions that established him as a hard man. Ganna today throwing it in, making the selection and making mistakes while racing hard. Put in a monster effort, everything about him and his style needed a tweak that didn't happen, Big rider, big bike, taller center of gravity, things that work on nice dry roads don't work when you are racing on dirty rocks and a bunch of uneven surfaces. Everything you do on cobbles is done separately. You can't break or pedal hard during any turn, you can't get impatient and stand up early to go with more gas, get on top of the gear, you lose rear end and or front end. Any squirrel side to side moves you can make in a regular road race have to tossed down on the ground like you were struck by lightning. Ganna was part of a long list of guys who didn't do the homework, the recon at speed..You see videos of UAE, Alpecin, Visma..they came with scooters and motorcycles for practice runs and had moto go up to corners to block traffic so they could get a feel for what it's like at near race speed. Ganna rode excellent in my opinion, no result but sponsor exposure was decent, he was on camera, sometimes for the wrong reasons! Lol
Ineos showing some good signs and as important as anything that happens on the bike, Ineos one of the only teams to have good financial news and securing a new sponsor.. That money could lead to good things
