I'm proud of that receipt. I lived the utter hate of those years, I lived every moment of obsession by that dozen mad people
you have to either be sick in the head or have absolutely no taste to not even be British and be a fan of Sky and/or Froome and this post confirms the former. you're a sick puppy. that is an insane way to live life.
my life, my real life outside these pages, is not influenced by Team Sky nor Froome. when I close the forum and twitter, this "sick" thing as you call it, ends and the life goes on. if you say I'm sick, well I'm as sick as the obsessed haters that now have disappeared after Sky doesn't win anymore
yes, now that they suck and win nothing the "haters" have predictably moved on. now it's just you obsessing over posts from 8 years ago.
the obsessed people were hiding behind the "antidoping" shield, while it was nothing other than pure vitriol and obsession. Team Sky, the Team Sky that was putting cycling "in danger" would ship minutes nowadays, they'd be minutes behind- were are the antidopers who were so vocal back then? they don't care about doping and watts anymore?
yeah, but you know who else did it in 38 minutes in 2022? An elderly Geraint Thomas.Must have been slow motors then. @pastronef ’s comment is right IMO. Contrary to prevailing opinions climbing times in the Sky era were pedestrian compared to the Armstrong era and since 2020.
eg Geraint Thomas was timed at 41 minutes on the Alpe when he won in 2018. Pogi & Vingo took 38 minutes in 2022. And based upon PdB in last years Tour Marco’s record on the Alpe looks shaky if Pog and Vingo attacked that now.
Visma have tried positive PR especially 2022-2023; with their riders having better sleep and nutrition, tastier meals, better recon on stages, no paint on bikes to decrease weight, not eating fiber to have an empty colon and decrease weight, don’t drink alcohol like other teams to decrease inflammation and grogginess, equipment changes and they’re still playing around with it to get better, and their training regimen. After Vingegaard’s crash and Pogacar’s domination they didn’t care as much, and UAE just don’t give a F.The biggest thing about Sky was all the BS they were floating about the reasons they were winning. I really don't hear teams like UAE or Visma trying to pass along "marginal gains" ***.
Bringing their own pillows, heated overshorts for transfers, hand sanitized stations, portable rice cookers ... etc, etc, etc. LOL
I think Wiggo said it best after he retired.
“People made a lot of that, but it’s not about the pillows, is it? It’s about *** training harder than everyone else. A lot of it is just ***. If you take the pillows away, did we win? Yeah. It’s all a bit of rubbish, isn’t it?”
Of course what he really probably wanted to say is "It's really all about who had the best dope, and Sky had the most money to spend on both doctors and dope. That is how we turned a bunch of donkeys into Tour de France winners."
