Matt Slater with another shocking cycling article at the BBC.
http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/cycling/33587176

I'm just gonna quote the final paragraph:
British cycling, with its funding based on Olympic success, used the track programme to identify and nurture talent for the road: the two disciplines have not been in opposition to each other and there has been a cross-fertilisation of best practice and new ideas.

Has French cycling learned much in the past 30 years? I am not so sure.

Just embarassing. The patriots will lap it up though.

the propaganda is going strong in the british media at the moment.

I bet they will happily ignore the fact that Sky published fake power numbers from the Dawg.

Incremental gains at sky

Sustained ketosis at altitude or during periods of prolonged exercise reduces the respiratory quotient (0.7-0.66) and will therefore increase the bulk inflow of oxygen. This will increase oxygen delivery and therefore oxygen consumption and increase anaerobic threshold.

Perceived effort may also be lower enabling greater maximal effort after 4 hours of racing.

Sky sport scientists have been working on this for years.

I am absolutley pig sick of the spineless British Media.

Hayles on 5Live saying people are asking questions because they dont like Sky and thats basically it, they're jealous!

Said Gallopin isnt a great climber and only lost a small % from Froome on Stage 10, but totally overlooked Thomas been up there.

Why are you surprised?

This is normal. Look at the reaction of the Spanish (president, cycling federation, media) when Contador got his dope bust after the cover up failed. It wasn't the Spanish media that uncovered it, it was the Germans. It wasn't the US media that went after Armstrong, it was the British.

This is normal.

It's strange though, with regards to the UK. The media doesn't seem to want to know about cycling, but they'll go after British athletes if there is the faintest whiff. Alan Wells and Mo Farah being the latest examples.

What we don't hear about is how many journalists have looked for stuff on Sky and found nothing.

It's certainly true that they've not found anything concrete. No witness testimony, not even a sniff, no failed tests. A rushed TUE, and some examples of where Sky have fallen short of their own ZTP, which in itself doesn't amount to much.

The rest is speculative, and revolves around implausible performances not so much in terms of the performances in themselves but who is performing them.

I think this is why the topic gets so heated. There is nothing concrete to go on, but we can't watch it without feeling uncomfortable with what we are watching.

you reckon they see Motoman come in with his goodie bag? no. they are not with them 24-7. at 11pm, when motoman arrives, the journalists are all sharing a few bottles of Chateau Petrus and d'Yquem

So not a single journo in the world is interested in a career making scoop of being the one to bust sky? Seem odd to you?

Nope. no one interested. It's sickening. Really the race appears bought and paid for. A nice tidy controlled win. Life, spirit, soul, all sucked out by a vampire.

i) u need a forum to publish. preferably broadsheet, preferably paper of record.
ii) how fast did NYtimes and WaPo publish on Lance?
iii) here is a quote for ya

Brecht Life of Galileo on heroes
Andrea: Unhappy is the land that breeds no hero.
Galileo: No, Andrea: Unhappy is the land that needs a hero. [Unglücklich das Land, das Helden nötig hat.]
Scene 12, p. 115
Variant translations: Pity the country that needs heroes.
Unhappy the land that is in need of heroes

All those Fish Hacks and Multi colored Fish Hacks were around during Armstrong's career also. How did we find out about the infamous motorman with stars and stripes on everything he owned? GreyManrod that's how.

like Armstrong. You need the broadsheet and paper-of-record to put the legal department resources behind you, and to back your copy. But the editors and the editor and board are not interested in sporting trifles. It is not exactly Mark Felt and Watergate innit

and I think Felt tried to get them to NYTimes, but they would not bite before Woodward and Bernstein at WaPo and it made that paper. I could be conflating Pentagon PApers and Ellsberg.

point is, there is no forum for them to get out. Wikileaks would not give a ***, or make the MSM media sit up.

so all you have offered with your post is a paradox

Well, Walsh was given full access and found nothing. But he's not what I'd call a credible witness with his obvious pro-Sky bias.

Kimmage asked for three weeks, started asking some uncomfortable but totally legitimate questions, got denied to riders and doctors and got his time cut by a week.

Of course no journalist will find anything if they have to dance to Sky's pretty little tune to be allowed in.

Yep, not credible because he found nothing.

And nothing wrong with that logic!

Walsh is not credible because he didn't find anything. He's not credible because of his double standards and hypocrisy in how he approaches Sky vs how he approached everyone else, the most obvious example of this being how climbing speeds and W/kg were good enough to call out Armstrong and Contador, but when it's Froome's turn they're suddenly pseudoscience.

I didn't say he wasn't credible because he found nothing. The fact that he isn't credible is pretty established and therefore not necessary to elaborate on. You only need to read the drivel on his Twitter feed to know he's biased, or account for the fact that he works for a Murdoch-owned paper or that he's been buddying it up with Froome writing his autobiography.

Yeah.... I think he was looking for the final nail in the coffin with the power stuff on Armstrong. With Sky we are missing the coffin, the coffin lid, a load of other nails...... and a hammer.
