and your post? yes! trolls should be banned.........goodbye galic

did you read how many trolling posts hoggie placed yesterday?

it's pretty clear rogers will not be riding for team sky

as to team sky getting popped? at present no-one is even certain that they

are doping......................but for sure if they are then the whole team

must go

Misquoting someone is against forum rules when the intent is to take a person out of context. Can a mod deal with this person and remind them? Or is that too much to ask around here?

This is what most people think when they read your barely legible drivel ebandit.

So do you speak English? Question is rhetorical so don't answer.

Not the UCI but ASO designed the 2012 Tour for Wiggins because they desperately needed to boost overseas TV sales. French TV viewing figures have been in freefall for years even though Voeckler managed to boost them a bit this year.

Team Sky did not meet with the powers that be in cycling to discuss team blood values for nothing. Had to make sure everything was on track.

I'd like to see the ASO presentation that Sky presented. If its good enough for ASO it should be good enough for the general public.

Releasing it would go a long way to minimising the suspicion about Sky.

For me removing Rogers, Yates and co. has only increased the the concerns I've outlined.

I'd like to see a more transparent Sly in 2013.

Hi GH,

Probably a good opportunity to remind not just ebandit but all forum users of this rule. Please take note all.

Cheers

Is it ok for Gaellic Ho to put up the youtube video as a response to Ebandit, these seems like the sort of insult moderators should be discouraging

As I understand it, the Mods may have more to worry about soon having failed to deal with clearly libellous and false posts... it could get expensive.

What is a clearly false post out of interest? And which seventh sense does anyone need to detect it?

Oh, wait a minute...

It's an oldie like me. A marketing technique used by IBM (and Microsoft I think) back in the day, standing for:

Fear
Uncertainty
Doubt.

ie he's trying to put the fear into you (or MODs in general) about being responsible for the site's content, even though it's user-driven and you have no personal legal responsibility at all. etc, etc.

IBM sales technique. They'd go in and tell the IT Manger; "No one ever got fired for buying IBM".

This was in the mainframe era where companies would buy one large machine every 5 years. Companies would drop $3m on the unit which could compute the payroll and that's about it!

Microsoft worked on a similar technique but they'd lock legacy and backward compatibility the use FUD. ie if you buy something else it might not be compatable.

WANG typewriters/terminals was similar but they didn't employ FUD and lost out.

Massive facepalm then because they turned it into the largest snooze fest ever.

Luckily the targeted audience of new viewers (UK) wouldn't have a clue with road racing in the UK itself pretty much dead and no real UK riders worth a pinch of cortisone to write home about for some time now.

A few of us were chatting about this last night. Three of us have been watching cycling for 20+ years. I started in the late 80s and one bloke the 70s.

We were saying it was the dullest tour in years and how the Vuelta smashed it to bits. Four lads who have just got into cycling in the last 12 months were saying how great it was, all were poo pooing my thoughts on Wiggins, Froome etc for their rise to the front (mostly Froome).

I suppose they dont have any real reference to go from. They havent seen the likes of Festina etc and only have the last year or so to go from.

What is frustrating is their lack of open mindedness regarding the pefromances of Sky. They just dont want to think about it, nor do any research. Its so frustrating. They all think Froome has been a podium contendor for years, how he was an awesome TTr in the waiting. How Rogers is a power house and that 7% gain at his age is nothing. Its so frustrating trying to get into them that an Elite Rider gaining 7% in power etc is usually unheard of in "marginal gains" due to it being a large difference when you are at the top.

Arrrrrgghhhhh

Prior to Cav's emergence all we had was Robert Millar.

Swift, JTL, Stannard, Rowe, Blythe, Cummings?

That's not a bad crop, given the difficulties that aspiring UK roadies face ie the difficulty in arranging a road race in the UK and language barriers for young lads trying their hand on the continent.

Come on man, you seriously are clutching at straws there man.

JTL has only just started poking his head over the parapet in the last 18months, since then he was riding in a poor domestic calender.

The rest, what have the REALLY done in Europe to catch the media in the Uk? Errr None.

Even when Cav was winning year in year out on the Champs the UK media didnt batter an eye lid! The main sports news when he won the WC was something about a 0-0 draw in wendyball!

Exaggeration about Cav. Don't forget the year he won the WC he was also BBC Sports Personality of the Year. UK media love him because he is a bit mouthy - and of course, a proven winner. So that's 2 cycling SPOTYs in four years; Wiggins may make it 3 in 5 (may not, as a good year for GB sport)

Is it exaggeration? I dont think so. He wasnt main sports news on ANY BBC Channel, 5Live OR the main evening news.

Its taken YEARS to have cycling on the main pages of the papers in the UK, YEARS.

He got SPOTY because us cycling fans bombareded it, lets be honest, its a bit of a white elephant SPOTY, having Phil 'The power' Taylor beat him to a 'podium' place the previous year.

Dear Wiggo's point was that the UK hasn't produced any road riders recently, not that the UK hadn't produced any road riders with a high media profile. The guys I mentioned are all decent continental pros at worst. Even if you take out Wiggo and Froome, there's more than enough UK roadies to form a decent squad a World Champs or Olympic level.

To gain a high media profile in the UK, you need to be performing at an exceptionally high level (Wiggo, Froome, Cav type performances). This says more about the UK media than the quality of the riders.

Reading through a couple of episodes of Cycling Weekly will highlight the same names I did, so it's not like cycling is completely inaccessible to a new fan with even the slightest amount of determination to find out what's going on.

Thats an iteresting one.

Take out Froome, Cav, Wiggo & Millar and what squad would you make?

One for the main board I suppose.
