My father always said 'Credit where it's due.' Congrats to Sir Dave Brailsford and Sir Bradley Wiggins for today's piece in the Sunday Times

Hmmm...congrats is a very interesting choice of word..congrats for what, exactly - 'pulling the wool' over Walsh's eyes? That's the tone I'm getting....

I'm getting the same vibe. Otherwise he'd congratulate Walsh, wouldn't he?

Quote of the century: "Get that ****ing thing off you." How could anyone doubt Bradley's commitment to anti-doping. Sorry Brad.

I keep referring back to what Kimmage said to DB in 2009. There is a difference between doing the right thing and being seen to do it.

@DavidWalshST interesting that he invites you now after sacking questionable staff. But blocked @PaulKimmage when they were employed.

John ‏@John321abc
@ronanoconnor @davidwalshst @paulkimmage Exactly what I was thinking. They weren't so keen when still employing Leinders, Yates et al.

To me he's saying that it was a bit of a convenient thing to be in the article and was designed to make Wiggins come across as anti-doping but it really means nothing, he's being sarcastic with the apology.

DW, i think the "congrats" to Brailsford/Wiggins has to be read in a sarcastic light (the unnecessary use of the 'Sirs' certainly points to it)- it's "congrats for getting the good press" or "congrats for pulling walsh to the dark side", not actually well done for being open - and the line on wiggins and the band is basically a sarcastic "chapeau!"...

in which case it's maybe a little unnecessary. confirms the idea that Kimmage's mind is all but made up on Wiggins et al. So I guess it's up to Walshy now to see what he can dig up...

What does, "Get that ****ing thing off you." mean?

Or was it in the article and obvious?

"Get that ****ing thing off you." is what Wiggo told Dombrowski when he showed up with a Livestrong wristband, as told by Walsh in that article.

"He came with his dreams, his trepidation and a yellow wristband, for he had been part of the Livestrong development team set up by Lance Armstrong. At the introductory meeting, Bradley Wiggins spoke candidly. 'You can start by taking that fukcing thing off.' Dombrowski removed the wristband. For ever."

Cos you know...

Maybe it just reminded him of his friends that he used to have and riders who he never rode against apart from one time in 2004.

I love that quote and many people thinking here wiggins is a fraud. he's way too simplistic to be anything like that/lance. I'm sure he believed lance was clean like he probably believes anything said by someone with even a hint of charisma.
