Without bothering to click on the link, what on earth can the Wiggins foundation be about? I'd love it if it was about 'Awareness Awareness', an advocay group that aims to make those seemingly sleepwalking in life to be more aware of their awareness. An advocay group about metacognition is sorely needed in these market driven, consumerist times.

It's to promote sport. You should click, just to have a laugh :D It's the most pathetic foundation goal I've ever read (not that I read many, but still).

maybe you should spend a few minutes talking to someone in public health policy...

And just like Gunderson invented cancer awareness, Wiggins has invented getting kids off their arses and into sports

Awareness is important. More people should know that. In fact, I'll soon be starting foundation to promote awareness of awareness.

It will be completely transparent. In fact, you won't even be able to see it unless you are already aware of it. One dollar. I take Pay Pal. Just PM me.

funny, weren't you first on the bandwagon that he was smoking marijuana? what's it now, tobacco? Whole lot of hate to run the guy down for one celebratory smoke of some sort after winning the Tour and a gold medal. Racing around London would have been worse for his lungs...

Sadly it wasn’t me. Someone else’s find.

I love how you’ve been quoting marginal gains, dedication, hard work, warming down, watts are within range of clean performance etc. and now of course it’s completely normal for the Tour de France champion to be smoking. Completely normal. Nothing unusual to be sucking in some Proposition 29 into the lungs. Nothing. In fact if all the other teams were smoking they might have been able to keep up.

And now a new one. London City smog worse than cigarette/spliff smoke? Really? You have a link for that? “According to several studies suggest….”

Classic. You’re too much. Seriously you are. I do laugh.

He did race round london and TT'd london and now to add to that a smoke(cigerette or marijuana). 1 celebratory smoke. How do you know he did not have 5 or 10?

Still a poster child for public health, right? Do what I say, not what I do?

I detest smoking with a passion, as I know the impact it has on my health and the health of those around me, plus it plains stinks. A revolting and entirely unnatural habit, regardless of what's being burnt to be inhaled.

Given the roads were closed and it had rained, I am guessing the air was pretty darn clean.

Regardless, pollution already in the atmosphere isn't an excuse for setting a pathetic example for a public health foundation, any way you cut it.

The Foundation crap... what's all that about?...most every bloody sport champ seems to think they have to start some bloody charitable nonsense.
....if I was cynical man I,d think its all spin @ bull..

Sure, Wiggins is the very picture of licentious hedonism, a British Bacchus. The depth of irrational hatred for him is truly impressive here - even a foundation is opportunity for unleashing more vitriol. If Wiggins saved a baby from a house fire, there would be a thread here accusing him of starting the fire...

More like Yates started the fire with material supplied by Leinders then Brailsford sent Wiggins in to save the baby whilst him and McQuaid looked on knowingly.Yeah, get where your coming from......

You're fighting a losing battle with this one and showed you're obvious bias.

Can't believe that you were justifying smoking! Oh dear. Sure its no problem. "Can't be as bad a smog - can it?" - Come on kids get yourself some of these.

Oh and the haters jibe. Come on. That's so 2002!

I didn't justify smoking. I said the attack on his foundation's goal because the presumed reason for the foundation was to create a Livestrong like charade was another sorry attempt to rationalize the hatred some people have for him. And yes, much of what goes on in the Clinic is an exercise in post-hoc rationalization for emotional reactions to riders. That is clear from the unevenness of 'clinic justice,' wherein some riders like Wiggins get disproportionate vitriol aimed at them despite the lack of any specific evidence against them. Meanwhile, the likes of George Hincapie get to ride off in the sunset, basking in the glory of uncritical feel-good stories about him despite the fact that he was Armstrong's lapdog, his mule, his enabler, and his victory at pla d'adet should go down as one of the darkest days of a dirty generation. But George is a 'nice guy' so gets a pass?

Who said anything about George Hincapie?

The knife cuts deep.

You've been found out and your obvious bias is telling.

"Smoking safer than smog" - you heard it first! (well only when Brad smokes)

I'm sure you've got some science to back up the claim?
