good point, does anyone know who Brailsford is accountable to within the BSkyB organisation? If its Board level then it would need to be some pretty difficult questions hitting the main stream media before any one regulatory within Sky started asking the right questions.

Just googling around, no idea if this is the guy...

http://www.marketingweek.co.uk/tren...yen-talks-wiggins-and-winning/4003061.article
BSkyB is riding high. Last month its Team Sky cyclist Bradley Wiggins rode to victory in the Tour de France and days later it announced annual profits of £1.2bn, up 17 per cent on the previous year.

Despite having to contend with flat advertising figures, slowing subscription rates and a reputation dented by stakeholder News Corp’s involvement in the phone hacking scandal, Sky’s managing director of sales and marketing Stephen van Rooyen - the man behind the brand and its £200m budget - is upbeat.

Team Sky is owned by News International group - through a subsidiary called Tour Racking Ltd. So you can assume that in the first instance Dave B is responsible to the board of TRL. I googled it, and got the following list of directors (no idea if this is still accurate, but in any case it gives you a sense of Sky's involvement in the team)

Robert Tansey (director of brand strategy and marketing at BSkyB)
Jacques Raynaud (VP of advertising at Sky Italia)
Graham McWilliam (director of corporate affairs, BskyB)
Matthew Anderson (group director of corporate strategy, News Intl)
Andrew Griffith (CFO at BSkyB)

And apparently the driving force behind the Sky's involvement was a combination of James Murdoch and Jeremy Darroch's (CEO of BSkyB) enthusiasm.

Make of that what you will.

TRL own the World Tour Licence.

Also on the board are:

Ian Drake - CEO of British Cycling
Brian Cookson - President of British Cycling

Most of the staff are actually contracted to British Cycling and are sub-contracted out to TRL

Now that we know the selective nature of the bio cases in regards to Armstrong as late as 09 and 10 we can safely assume Sky riders are not going to be netted with this process.

With this knowledge no wonder Sky made a presentation to ASO. Once they covered that base there was nothing to worry about in terms of being caught.

To my earlier statements. Not a lot has changed. If the UCI are shy on Armstrong Bio case then they’re not going to bring down Froome or Wiggins.

I can safely say that nothing has changed. Sky are doping. Period. And Ashenden knows it.

Yep, and with the UCI saying they are not interested in retrospective results/the past in general we can safely assume your statements are pretty damn accurate. What Ashenden et al come out and say could still muddy the waters, but whether it ever happens and reaches a broader audience I doubt.

This I agree with. Cycling to the masses will never understand bio passports and the selective nature thereof. They’re clean to the wider audience. They passed all the tests.

The Tenerife gang

A bit off topic, but I was wandering if Danny Pate was ever part of the Tenerife gang? He seems to be very outspoken about doping which would be strange to say the least if he was part of some doping conspiracy at Sky.

I imagine they *will* release some info behind this, right? Or at least be asked to.

My guess: no.

There was a Garmin pre-Tour camp in 2009, when Wiggins burst on to the scene. Pate, Martin and Millar were in attendance, noone else from Garmin.

He hasn't since won a TdF stage, unlike Millar.

His points from 2012 look like a clean rider riding in a .. woah that peloton ain't clean: http://www.cqranking.com/men/asp/gen/rider_palm.asp?riderid=3137&year=2012&all=1&current=0

Sky need to sign this chap, he already rides one of their bikes. He's a Brit so he's clearly a doper: there's no way you can backflip out of a golf bunker on a Pinarello Dogma without sum' poe

Not sure how he climbs but I reckon he'd take them on the descents, as the crow flies

Oh Jeez please. The whole world is against us again. Do you actually believe every other poster on here is Anti British. No seriously, is that what you believe? Or maybe, just, maybe, they see things.... that are....erm... not normal. Try and see and you will.

I think new breed dopers will be outspoken against doping where they can.

Im not talking about Pate here i have no idea about him, but generally, i think as dopers evolve, you will see many of them being the very first to attack guys like Ricco Dli Luca Sella Vino when they fall (we already kind of do) call for life bans, call for harsher penalties, appear in anti doping ads, say they dont want existing dopers back.

None of this inteferes with their ability to dope. It might make them look like hypocrites if they do get caught (though whose counting), but ultimately getting caught is the worst possible scenario anyway.

I have not follow Dany Pate so closely, but I read comments about him being clean a few years back. Since then I try to check his performance a results but it seems like the cleanish type. No way of knowing really but if this guy who showed early age promise is doping he should change doctors.

He talks a lot of **** for someone who has worked under Yates/Aldag/Holm/Vaughters/Weltz/White in the last three seasons (and said nothing about them).

Emoticons help when your posts on the whole tend towards the defensive and you are trying to be humourous. Just sayin'.

Asked to by whom exactly? Rupert Murdoch? Apart from the 'clinic' who is really interested? Done, dusted, under the carpet, "we didn't know 'onest guv, but we've 'eard there might be a bit of dodgy stuff in this geez's past so we've done the right fing for the sake of the sport". Checkmate.

....

So, any interesting info on the new signings?

Thank you! It is simply incredible, that boy is one of the most talented riders I have ever seen, but to ride like that on a Dogma, ridiculous
