Which ones?
pedaling squares said:I think Froome is a better professional than that. I don't think he lacks the desire to train or compete. Let me rephrase your question. After 8 months of training and winning everything do you think he has any desire to risk getting caught taking illegal substances? Remember, everything after TdF is like a criterium for him.
JRanton said:You don't do all of the post-Tour crits, like Froome and Porte did, if you're serious about getting results in the last part of the season. I think people are barking up the wrong tree if they're taking much from this drop in form.

BroDeal said:Oh, brother. Now fixed exhibition "races" are to be used as a gauge of form?
Typical Sky cluelessness.
Benotti69 said:Sean Kelly would disagree, he rode as many post tour crits and won 3 Lombardia.

JRanton said:What on earth are you talking about?
My point is that you don't travel around Europe racing those Crits, make several sponsorship appearances, and then head to a race at altitude in America only a few days before the start, if you're serious about preparing for the last part of the season.
Got that?
BroDeal said:Yeah. It is perfectly normal for someone racing at a VO2Max of over ninety to have it drop to seventy in a month while still getting regular exercise.![]()
Parrulo said:A certain Rui Costa also rode plenty Tour crits and look at what he is wearing right now. . .
JRanton said:His Colorado performance isn't surprising at all if you consider the massive change in altitude. He was back in reasonable shape for the Canada races but he's not a one day rider so he's never going to get a result.
BroDeal said:keep making those excuses. The Armstrong fanboy record is in reach.
JRanton said:Go back and take a look at Cound and Froome's twitter feeds if you can be bothered.
JRanton said:The trouble with you guys is that you want it all ways. If a rider has one incredible peak for one event - suspicious (I'd agree). A rider maintains form from Feb-July - suspicious. A rider isn't able to maintain that form through to September - suspicious.
Basically everything is suspicious.
BroDeal said:With Froome everything IS suspicious. His doping is so obvious a simian brain can figure it out. The guy is a clown.
thehog said:Why would I do that.
Which ones did they ride and how many. Just wondering as you brought it up.
JRanton said:Jesus, Hog, I don't have a full record of the Crits he raced. Happy?
thehog said:Thanks.
So what was the point you were making?
JRanton said:That he raced a lot of Crits post-Tour. Which he did.
thehog said:A lot that can't be named.
What's a lot? 3? 10? 4?
JRanton said:8 I think judging from his twitter feed. 26th July to 2nd August, followed by several sponsorship appearances in the next two weeks.
thehog said:Thanks.
30km each? With a predetermined winner.
8 x 30 = 240km in 7 days.
Sounds like a rest week for a guy who rode 220km in one day then beat Armstrong's time up Ventoux.
I think he was fine.
JRanton said:Yeah, because there's no travelling involved between visiting different countries and you're not staying in a different hotel/bed every night. Perfect recovery week followed by travelling to several sponsors in different countries in the next two weeks. Perfect recovery indeed!
EDIT - Pretty sure these Crits are more like 100km btw.
