I'm a scientist - gene therapy is implausible to say the least. Not only are gene targets for this application not well understood, the protocols involved carry extreme risks, with fatalities during some human trials, potentially dangerous vectors, etc.

What kind of scientist?

Yes, I,ve read that to..from back in 2004..8 years ago..a long time ago in sport and development of science.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4282866/ns/health-genetics/t/gene-therapy-creates-super-muscles/

"Murray said he “has no doubt athletes will be in touch with Sweeney” when they learn of his research.

Sweeney said that already half the e-mails he receives are from athletes or sports trainers."
Athletes are notorious for taking great risks with there health.
I,m not saying im confident its what's happening but I cant dismiss it out of hand and I think its important to think outside the box.
Certainly that's Sky,s stated viewpoint.

then why are VEGF's already approved for use? You're either making stuff up or keeping your head in the sand, not sure which?

Sycophancy fills one's pockets as it erodes one's soul

Huh? You lost me. Who do you intend to refer to as the sycophant? Phil and Paul? Roll? Moninger? Harmon? Kirby? Kelly? Me?

I know others have referred to Phil and Paul as sycophants, but I don't think you can say that of the Harmon/Kelly duo, and Kirby doesn't seem to me to be there. Personally, I think P&P and Bobke have gone a little far on the LA is innocent line, but I wouldn't label them as sycophants.

Nothing to see here? Move along? Because he has been in the front all day? Shucks, buddy, if Wiggo had been on the front all day he would be off the back now too, even if he is doped. Same thing would have been true for LA

Ok - so not gene therapy. Aicar, "hundreds of variants of EPO", simple blood doping - are possibilities that come to mind. All difficult or impossible to test for. All pushing the limit of what is "natural enhancement" and what is chemical.

Maybe they are doing something like Aicar, and they've been convinced it is a "natural supplement" - and thus believe they are not "doping" - even if we think otherwise.

Then maybe you need to be a little clearer. I replied to the point that I read. If you meant something else, write so it can't be misread.

Hey, I thought of that excellent line all by myself! Damn, you mean I'm still bone idle and without achievement? I thought I had a budding career as a fortune cookie writer with that excellent chestnut. Back on the dole queue for me.

As caruut and rhubroma were saying, the media is complicit because they have a product to sell. P&P certainly more so than others, but all are compromised to some degree. Then there's others who are too stupid to realise they're being manipulated: a Greek-Aussie witless wonder called Mike Tomalaris.

You dont get sarcasm, I apologise. Ill try not to do that again. All of them have been controlling at the front from the start of the race. There are still three sky men at the front of the gc contenders as there has been from the start.
Normal I would say for the tour, nothing to see here, move along.....oh wait!

Rogers pulls off after pulling an elite group for 80km or whatever, and Wiggins still has 2 domestiques left, was the point.

But I heard Porte's done now, so nvm.

:D

Hehehe, actually - it was a great fortune cookie line! Somewhat cryptic - exactly what a fortune-teller needs. Definitely the media is complicit in some manner. Agreed. Idk Tomolaris, but have seen him mentioned in the forums before. Oz?
