Eeeh... who's the Ukranian champ? He needs to join now! Why, the jersey is already pretty much Ukranian champ colours!:p

Grivko I think but the Astana kit matches the flag fairly well also so...

unbelievable how good he was this year.and i really don't think they have to pay a lot.

Yeah that is a good idea, we should contact Bjarne, maybe I can get his email address out of Thomas on twitter.

Brian Holm article on purchase possibilities for Riis: http://www.sporten.dk/cykling/holm-til-riis-hent-danske-stjerner

And list of other potentials by sporten.dk: http://www.sporten.dk/cykling/her-er-din-indkoebsliste-bjarne-riis

2nd article is writeen by pure amateur it seems. It mentions Sagan and EBH as targets.

Sagan extended with Liquigas this year for another 2 years.

EBH extended with Sky in December for another 3 years

It also mentions Nibali who we know will sign for Astana and Rolland who's under contract with Europcar.

They're obvious riders are okay, but the alternatives are way off.

More interesting is this interview with Fabian.

"Anything is possible in this world," was the somewhat cryptic reply from Fabian Cancellara on the question whether he can find to return to Bjarne Riis.
Fabian Cancellara

Oleg Tinkoff, the man behind Tinkoff Bank, which on Monday was published as Bjarne Riis new sponsor, would like Fabian Cancellara back to the Danish team. That, he said shortly after the press conference on Monday. Today was the big Swiss then asked whether it is realistic that he can return to Bjarne Riis as RadioShack-Nissan press conference held ahead of the Tour de France.
*
"Anything is possible in this world. I have my contract and is currently on a team. But it is nice to get a complement from someone who wants, I get on the team, "was the reply from Fabian Cancellara, who drove for Bjarne Riis 2006 to 2010, at the press conference in the Belgian city of Liege, under Sports. dk.
*
Although it was not exactly a lucky manner as Fabian Cancellara and Bjarne Riis parted on, he can still rejoice that the Danish team owner has found a new sponsor. It is also interesting that Tinkoff and Cancellara know each other.
*
"I have known Oleg for a long time, and for cycling, it is nice that he is back. I am happy for Bjarne's behalf, because he always works hard, and getting a sponsor is always important, "says the sympathetic from the big strong Swiss, who on Saturday will try to win the prologue in Liege and thus take the yellow jersey.

I think its more than unrealistic to believe Riis can change the entire team in one season, but he should be able to start the build up of a new foundation, perhabs with a Sagan, Rein Taaramae, Joaquin Rodriguez or Matti Breschell, who all are without contracts so far for 2013.
Plus 4 or 5 really good helpers I think is the most possible senario in this transfer window.

Getting Fabs back would be a wet dream but hes still on contract and its unlikely Riis can sign him already.

The new jersey doesn't look too bad.

Actually not, when they showed it to the press conference i was like...puke, but seeing it today made me change my mind, I think its great. It just looked like a very different yellow at the presentation, but i like this one.

Saxo tried to buy EBH out of his contract already last year, so it's not that ridiculous. That's why he got a renewed contract at Sky 1 year before it ended with higher salary.

I certainly wouldn't mind seeing him at Saxo.

That´s true, thanks for the Edit.
And Sagan also prolonged hes contract, but the point is Riis should just try to get a foundation to build on, whoever he chooses.

True, but still he is at Sky till 2014 and to put his name as possibility to join team NEXT year is wrong nonetheless.

He extended and can't see him leaving this or next year too.

Breschel and Fuglsang are probably likely names. Brehell will strenchen the team on the cobbles and Fuglsang in the ardennes and the stage races. That wont cut it though. More strong riders are needed all the way around

More problematic is that it may very well not cut it concerning WT points considering that Fuglsang has not got any the entire season really and is prevented from having any opportunity to build on that. Whilst Breschel had a barren season last year and this year his points have been very limited.

First and foremost in WT status and that will be Risse's main objective I believe in the transfer market. Even though he does seem to be close to signing those two riders.

Indeed. But it seems he has enough money to get those 2 + riders with points. And besides that I do think he has a good case if he decides to take the Contador-points-case to CAS, which he seems to plan.
