Considering Riis' talent in getting the best out of riders (in whichever way this can be) Kreuziger just might surprise us. I am intrigued at the prospect nonetheless.

(in whichever way this can be)*

1. Team spirit & team building.
2. Individual training schemes & close personal trainers.
3. Diet plans and professional guidance.
4. Probably the best internal organisation on the pro tour.
5. Riis´s amazing ability to motivate his riders to perform their best, and not to forget his superior tactical skills.

Kreuziger is only 26 years old and has shown potential. It seems that he has not felt himself at home with Astana and a little change of air will only be good for him.
I am sure Riis can get more out of him than Astana has been able to.
Interesting signing indeed. If the rumor regarding Kessiakoff is true too, then its clearly 2 great reinforcements for Contador.

This in mind, I can hardly believe he signed kiserlovski also, but if he did... :D Sorry VAE lol

So, if this will be true, then we can say, that Riis signed KKK to support Contador? :D

However, if the statement from Tinkov reviels to be true, Riis wont be a happy man at all.

Fat paddy went to Riis on the first day of the tour and said they had to have a talk about the Contador points, and this will only undermine Riis chances for a positive outcome.

I think Riis needs to have a parents talk with Tinkov :p ... not that I think it will have any effect though.

Thanks for summing up my thoughts :D

Don't forget how hist past experiences can help him help the riders. As a dane I fully back Riis no matter what ;)

Why is Riiss wasting money on Cancellara? Should be buying a decent team for Contador.

I agree Contador needs climbers but Cancellara is a very useful rider for any contender

Surely it's in everyone's interest, even 'Fatty''s, to have a team with big profiles and a big cash machine in the back in the bigger races. Contador's points - or lack of - is no more an issue.

Of course it´s a huge issue, and will be the next 2 years, could the points Contador earns the next 2 years count, then it surely will make a big difference.

Where is this talk about Cancellra re-signing with Riis coming from? I thought he was under contract until the end of 2013? If he is signing then I think it's actually great for Contador--especially if there is a TTT at Tour next year.

Apparently Tinkov strongly indicated signing Canc on Russian Eurosport today.

The last time Cancellara switched to Team LUX he was under contract with Riis for the upcoming season. So there is a precedent.

Besides, it doesn't really look like there is much of a RSNT-team next year. And if there is any truth in the non-received salary story I'm sure Fabian could annul his contract with RSNT through some lawyer mumbo jumbo.

As a lawyer I take offense to the words "mumbo jumbo". The appropriate phrase is legal hocus pocus.;)

If they manage to sign all the rumored riders, Kreuziger, Breschel, Fuglsang , Cancellara, Kessiakoff, Kieserlovski, Guardini & kyrienka, it will be one hell of a team. It may be a good back up plan if Berties' points are disallowed, because with such a strong team they should easily rack up World Tour points.

So - Kreuziger, Kessiakoff, Kieserlovski and Kancellara...

New tactic for Saxo-Tinkoff - only use riders starting with a K:
Kontador, KAS, Kristensen, Kroon, Knicki Sorensen, Knick Knuyens...

Sadly enough there'll be no room for Morkov unless he changes his name, but if it means the inclusion of Kavendish instead I guess that it could work.

I think that super rides like Cancellara is not a good choice for a team that already has its star. It is better to look for some "new" cancellara in formation! New talent.. star tomorrow... but I know.. it is hard to do it.... a guy that want to make his name.. not a guy that live by what he already did.

Confirmed contracts:

Alberto Contador (2015)
Chris Anker Sørensen (2015)
Jonas Aaen Jørgensen (2013)
Mads Christensen (2013)
Christopher Juul-Jensen (2013)
Karsten Kroon (2013)
Sergio Paulinho (2013)
Nicki Sørensen (2013)

Most likely to be renewed:
Manuele Boaro (2012)
Daniel Navarro (2012)
Jesús Hernández (2012)
Michael Mørkøv (2012)
Rafal Majka (2012)
Kasper Klostergaard (2012)
Bruno Pires (2012)
Matteo Tosatto (2012)
Jonathan Cantwell (2012) I kept an eye on him all year, and I think a lot of people underestimate him, he´s tough and a pretty good lead out man, and if Riis signed Guardini he will need him, and besides he have 3 victories on his palmeras this season.
Nick Nuyens (2012)
David Tanner (2012) he had a ****ty season but not sure Riis is ready to let him go yet. He showed good potential in 2011.

Possible new signings:
Roman Kreuziger
Kiserlovski :D
Kessiakoff
Matti Brechell
Guardini
Sebastian Lander (Riis is stupid if he dosen´t sign him now, otherwise Quickstep signs him)
Birdsong (I have not much faith in this signing, but let´s see how Jakob chooses, he got an offer)
Russian 1
Russian 2
climber 1 (could actually be a Jesper Hansen, he was invited to join the team training camp and Riis was pretty impressed, so was Contador, which he should be since he beat him :)

most likely out:
Volodymir Gustov (2012)
Lucas Sebastian Haedo (2012)
Juan José Haedo (2012)
Anders Lund (2012)
Jaroslaw Marycz (2012)
Ran Margaliot (2012)
Takashi Miyazawa (2012)
Benjamin Noval (2012) if Contador allows it?
Luke Roberts (2012)
Troels Vinther (2012)

It´s a good start for the first build up year of a new stronger team, maybe you disagree but its my guess how it could end up for 2013.

I ruled out Canc completely, course I simply dont believe it.

Contador can't get any points for the team, and Cancellara can get lots of points.

But also very expensive. If the primary objective is winning the Tour then I don't think buying Spartacus is cost effective unless they've got a very big budget. You have to look at Spartacus as primarily a star who brings cobbles and TT wins to a team. The fact that he's also good help an flat stages is a nice bonus, but it's not why you buy him.
