They don't need a road captain. They have Ian Stannard, he can ride on the front all day with Froome on his wheel.

Because we all know who is an 'experience road captain', and it's not just a media tag applied to people who do the job for 3 or 4 years in a row, long after they are capable of it.

You read it here first

Not picking Bernie Eisel, no experienced road captain now.

Big suprise, but they are a professional bunch with all the latest gadgets, looks like for some reason Bernie`s numbers arent good enough, perhaps hes carrying an injury.

Lopez and the two Belorussians are men of many wars, and they're about the same age as Eisel. No need to hit the panic button, or to start calling on possible fail because of this. The Tour will decide if this group of riders succeeds.

Definitely seems that way. Of course, losing Rogers to Saxo is a bigger blow than Eisel not being there and he could have been the road captain. Basically replace Lopez and Kennaugh with Rogers and one of the Colombians and you have the ideal team.

Sorry, they forgot to ask you right?

Do 90% of your posts have to be trolling and baiting? Its getting old already. And since you are not a total moron genuine posts and non-trollish debate from your side would be much appreciated

The name of the thread brought that question in a natural way. The guy hints he knows how to complect Sky squad optimally. It's worth asking, no?

You have to be the greatest innovator in the English language since Shakespeare. Chapeau.

Isnt that an important point about such forums? I mean to have an opnion about such matters? He think it was a mistake not to pick Bernie and opens for a discussion about that choise

Ignore list is highly recommended

My recommendation was actually genuine cos I think he would be a respected and knowledgable poster if he didnt troll and bait all the time. Its a real shame. Maybe his feelings about certain riders controls the way he debates to much.

Whilst I like Bernie, he isn't needed in this team.

Who was 'Road Captain' at the Dauphine ? Thomas IIRC, and he will do the same role here.
2013 Dauphine 8 + 1
2012 7 from Dauphine squad + Bernie/Cav
2011 Dauphine 8+ Ben Swift

(Pattern falls down a bit in 2010 mind you)

Geraint "I crash in the final of every classic" Thomas as a road captain might not be the best idea.
