A thread for discussing news about the LottoNL-Jumbo team.

Lady Luck was not on their side this time round, but the team has an illustrious history and will no doubt return to glory sooner rather than later.

Well it was not a bad giro for them. One stage win, a few second places and almost winning the overall. I guess they should be satisfied but it's hard with losing the pink jersey and now even the podium.

It´s a pity that Roglic only started to go well in the mountains yesterday in the last stage.
Yet he flew in the time trials, whereas at the beginning of the race many would have expected it to be the other way round.

I expect Kruijswijk to fight for La Vuelta win.

Maybe he'll get selected for the Olympics, I think that would complicate preparing for the Vuelta.

Well. Now it suddenly sounds promising that only Jumbo signed by so far. There finally might be a new (Dutch) big enterprise eager to invest a huge paycheck in a cycling sponsorship, now.

TNT/Post.NL , McDonald's, Starbucks Coffee, Huawei, Douwe Egberts, etc. pp.

LottoNL sending George Bennett, Victor Campenaerts, Moreno Hofland, Martijn Keizer, Alexey Vermeulen, Steven Lammertink, Mike Teunissen and Dennis van Winden to the Dauphiné.

Quite a weak time apart from Hofland.

With Gesink and Kelderman scheduled for Suisse and Kruijswijk on holiday they do not have much else.

Well since last year they do seem to get the GT peaking right. Kruijswijk was phenomenal in last years Giro as well. Gesink was in his best form in 5 years in the TDF.. Only the Vuelta was maybe a bit of a letdown, but they didn't really go there with great GC ambitions.

Expect a surprise Kelderman in the TDF

Kelderman needs to start winning big races. His only victories of note are two Scandinavian stage races against... let's say, sub-par competition.

I don't get why he isn't performing better after his impressive results in his first year as a U23 rider and his first 2 years as a pro.

I fear he may end up becoming the new Thomas Lövkvist.

Because Dutch riders live like professionals at 12 or thereabouts and they realize their full potential earlier.
