He looks great so far! As he did in the Dauphine. I have the foreboding sense that he is like Richie Porte, though. Looking super strong and on top of things and speaking with confidence bordering on arrogance, only to have a bad day. If he doesn't have a bad day and continues with his current form, I think he has a very real shot at the podium.

We haven't hit a single mountain yet though.

But i expect that tomorrow one of the main guys will lose time, can be a lot if he's unlucky with a crash orso. And his team is good on the cobbles but i hope GVA can go for himself

I just don't think that he can hold his dauphine form for the rest of the Tour and his team isn't the strongest in the mountains, I don't expect much from Sammy Sanchez, maybe Caruso will be a good climbing domestique but the team seems to lack firepower in the mountains.

Not sure why it's a big test for him espacially, he wasn't bad on the cobbles last year compared to the others. Nibali was just in a class of his own.

I would rather wait to see after stage 10, where i think he'll do fine, but stage 12 could hurt him.

He is looking strong. Froome showed in Dauphine he can beat him in the mountains, but for the rest, except Quintana, will be a problem.

If something should happen (god forbid) to Froome, Teej is actually in a strong position to challenge for MJ in Paris. He's got to be delighted right now. I don't think it could have gone any better for him up to this point (bar other GC guys dropping out).

With the time he has on the others, I'd say for sure it is.

I don't know where you get this idea that he is likely to fade in the third week. I can accept the idea that he is just not as good in the mountains as the big four, but there is no evidence that the third week in particular is a weakness for him.

The bookies give him a pretty good chance now for the podium, not far behind Nibali and Contador.

If Froome has his usual bad day or 2 and TJ can be consistent ,,,,he can win the tour. He has time on Quintana and Nibs so does not need to panic when they attack. He only has to stay in touch. He has proved he can get the better of Froome and his team so far look very strong.
Bertie looks tired and unless he hits some major form in the last week then TJ has a great chance to win this.

He will have his "jour sans'' somewhere in the third week where he will crack. This time there isn't also a long individual TT like last year and 2012 where he can gain time on his rivals. In the TTT I don't see him gain much time on the other favorites.

I don't think he has a "great chance." If he has any chance at all, it's a small one. Froome isn't guaranteed to have a bad day anymore than Tejay is. Not to mention Quintana and Nibbes. He would have to find a way to limit his loses to them. There's so many mountains though I don't think he will be able to.

Yeah, he has almost no chance to win the Tour. But he has a great chance of getting on the podium as things stand now.

Not quite. For Cav to win on the Bretagne he would need MANY riders to crash out. For Tejay to win the overall he would only need around 4 riders to crash out.
