So what would it take, to get Serena preperly tested? Direct WADA intervention?

Can WADA instigate an investigation on its own? I thought it had to report to the sport's governing body - which is why so many things, in all sports, get swept under the carpet.

Only if he had reason to suspect her selling dope, administering it to other, evading tax, etc. Let's face it, we all think she dopes, but who thinks she commits crimes?

true, but if novi finds the guy who sells her the dope and/or administers it to her...

A LOT of this, but also that women's tennis just isn't that competitive - so a genuinely good player like Williams can breeze in and out of the game to a certain extent. Especially in the current era. It couldn't happen in men's pro cycling that's for sure, but that's a much more competitive sport. Probably someone like Vos could swan in and out of women's cycling and pick up plenty of decent results when she felt like it. On the question of Williams' doping though, the pictures tell the story.

Absolutely, last years French Open winner lost in the Wimbledon 2nd round, Wimbledon winner lost in the US Open 2nd round, US Open winner lost in the Aussie 1st round. Women's tennis needs some of the very good players to be more consistent (qfs at least each slam), hard to consider any of them great without that. Pova is finally starting to get rolling and serve pending could be that player.

You might be right to shoot me for saying this, but I thought the womens semis today were actually okay.

I agree. None of them would I consider dopers, 3 are tall, serve-reliant, and Clijster is clijsters, lol.

Lol commentator at start of match. "djokovic might be tired. lets hope his diet can get him through".

these people know jack **** about the sport they get paid to live around.

they actually believe the diet makes superman theory.

If only popye had gone on a glucose free diet rather than eat broccoli, he would have been like Pudzianowsk.

There are some pretty bad commentators in all sports, including tennis.

Good match though, pulling for Nole.

Spinach surely?

Tennis gets more like that American Wrestling nonsense with each passing year.

The quality of tennis in this match was incredible, regardless. AMAZING shots.

Better prepared, better gear nowadays.

Anyone remember in 2009 when Nadal went 5 hours with Verdasco in the previous longest AO match ever, collapsed on court, was barely able to walk off and according to those closest to him, couldnt even walk the next day and had to cancel the usual - hit a few balls routine and had his food brought to his room cos he spent all day in bed unable to get up.

The next day he went 5 hours against Federer and smashed him off the court with the physical game.

The fountain of youth has been around forever. People want to believe in this nonsense. The NY Times had a long article about Djokovic's gluten free??? diet and my neighbor asked me about it.

I told him that I thought it was most likely bs and the neighbor starts arguing with me about it. What can you do? The guy's about 60. I told him to go to his doctor and get some testosterone gel. I thought it was good advice. He thought it was the diet. I shrugged my shoulders.

The guy asks me how I ride my bike for 3 or 4 hours in 95 degree midday Florida heat and I tell him 'I can just do it.' He wants to believe there's a silver bullet.

I give him a definite silver bullet and he argues with me that it's a diet. People are nuts.

I've been gluten free for a year and never felt better. I won't attribute everything to diet but I'm in much better shape now than I was a year ago.

Djokovic suspicious eating?

LINKY

Video here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxzIfPxbdGI

Initially, it seems to be a small, pill-type thing. After he takes the towel away, he seems to be chewing something much larger, as in a chocolate bar. Was he faking the chewing?

lol.

Good video.

It looks like hes hiding something but then again I would not expect players do dope out in the open in front of millions of tv viewers.

Its something thats done behind closed those.
