I missed the Matt Lloyd selection, He might turn out to be like Phillip Deignan from last year in improving from a low position but not a game changer.

Prohibiting forum users discussing cyclists before the start of the 2013 season is impossible for obvious reasons.

Banning users who name riders from participation in the game does not necessarily stop the posting of tips, and certainly doesn't stop their use.

I think the freedom to reveal names adds difficulty to the game, in that you might have to find more obscure riders to win. Also if there is an open list of unmissable bargains, you have fewer slots on the tem to play with, which is harder. You can still choose to put in a team based on personal favourites, or go for unknown conti riders for bragging rights, although you may be less competitive.

I suppose you could have a sort of no spoilers rule in this thread, to make it a little harder to find recommendations in the forum, but a moderator might be required to enforce the rule and delete any such posts.

I don't see the problem. Everyone should be free to say whatever the hell they want, and Breschel is a super obvious choice. Even if no one was talking about him here, I'd expect 99% of players to remember him when designing their teams, and maybe 85% to decide he's worth the investment.

Are there any serious players who at the very least don't check all WT 2011 rosters to compare 2011 and 2010 scores?

edit: and how did Cobo ruin anything? He was a wildcard and a risk. Yes, he didn't cost you any points, but it did cost you a spot in your team, and until Burgos that investment was mostly for nothing. It was perfectly possible that we'd be sacrificing one spot for a measly 50 point gain, so like with all other riders you had to weight the risks and the potential payoffs. And I didn't even have Haussler.

Cycling Knowledge
Analytical Skills
Luck


Knowledge is how well you know cycling, the neo-pros coming up or those who underperformed, have the potential to break out etc.
Analytical Skills being how well you can trawl through the CQ lists and excel sheets to find the "bargains".
Luck is obvious.

Point is? You're not going to be successful without all 3 and those who "gained" from the bargain picks being published either don't have any Analytical skills and potentially very little Cycling Knowledge.
