he just wasn't there. all the same scenario as Qatar: 5km to go - several Rabo guys lead Renshaw, 1km to go - neither Rabo nor Renshaw is there :)

edit: as a lead out man, he was able to choose his position better though
That's the problem: he was there with 1k to go, on Cav's wheel. 100 m later, he was 10 positions back.

That's pretty much what i meant. He had lost his position (since i have not seen the replay yet, i can't say precisely if it happened 1km to go or 100m later :)). On the other hand Rabo constantly leaves him alone in the final 1-2km, while 5km to the line they often have 5-6 riders in the train.

Holy geez, my team is rolling along this weekend. I know lots of people got lots of points, but I'm on a 2 week roll. 292 from Het Volk yesterday (1st, 2nd, 4th and Breschel participation points) and then 106 points today from Battaglin, Felline, Modolo, Demare and Brandle. Add that to the minor points from Andalucia this week, and the fact that I was already in 14th, and it should be a solid showing (fingers crossed for top 10). Now the real season begins...

Over 270 points, yesterday, then the same again, today.;)
(and I bet there are a few who can beat this)
Still, can I turn 2nd into 1st?

396 for me this week, should move me up a little. If I can't score in the cobbled classics with Boonen, Vanmarcke, Breschel, Haussler, Hoste, Iglinskiy, Maaskant, Martens, Pozzato, then I'm screwed anyway :p

Hmm, I would say the answer is yes. C'mon, you won both HC races, that's crazy good.

edit: eyeballing the top teams, I believe Mellow Velo will definitely be in first and mc_mountain in 2nd, unless someone outside the top 15 made some crazy, crazy gains.

Dang 8 points from Boivin was my highest score at KBK. Guardini's setting my mind at rest by repeating last year's performance in Langkawi though.

I only had Haussler/ Boonen and Demare go well for me this week I expect to slide out of the top 20 ( probably into the top 35 ). You are all going to be slaughtered though when the Giro/ Basso comes along ( i'm putting a brave face on it ).

Huta must have had an epic lead out from Demare to be so close to Cav/ Demare to finish 4th.

Hutarovich actually got a pretty good lead-out from Seb Chavanel. It isn't seen on the video but it looks like it was Demare who got his 4th sprinting from waaay behind

That's positioning. Unless Chavanel changed teams but somehow forgot to change his Europcar kit you can't consider it a lead-out.

I know what it is, the team gave him a good position, he didn't lose it, chose a right wheel and turned it into the 2nd in sprint . But my post was more about the awesomeness of Demare's 4th place. His position was as bad as Renshaw's one but he managed to finish that high.

I was away from the forum for some time now only to find myself in 26th. That's good after a slow start of the season, which is not a bad thing, as the first month is not representative of the rest of the season.

Yeah, in the overhead shot, Hutarovich comes over from the left to hook on Cavendish's wheel right while Greipel gets cut off from the right. Then, at the very end, Demare comes around from the right to take 4th. Huta and Demare were definitely nowhere near each other, let alone leading each other out.

Yeah sorry, I don't really have time tonight, so the update will be up tomorrow :)

Take your time, those inpatient can already see the game rankings on the website ...

... Cant believe the leader Mellow Velo has about double of my points

Not sure if there is even a chance to catch up ...

Update 8: Mellow Velo dominates

As the season has finally really kicked in, so has the era of Mellow Velo. Not only is he this weeks highest scorer, he's now also on the top of the leaderboard with a 245 points lead to Michele. I guess having the winner on this weeks two 1.HC races on your team helps a lot...

Only one new team sneak its way into the top 10 this week: skidmark's. With points from Boonen, Haussler, Battaglin, Demare and, most importantly, Vanmarcke did he have a very good week and can now celebrate at least one week in the prestigious company in the top 10.
As one team enters the top 10, another one have to leave and that team is AntonioRossi's.

Top 10:

1. (2) Mellow Velo - 2215
2. (1) Michele - 1970
3. (10) hrotha - 1885
4. (8) TeoSheva - 1863
5. (13) skidmark - 1860
6. (3) Timmy-loves-Rabo - 1858
7. (7) mc_mountain - 1856
8. (9) shalgo - 1772
9. (5) EvansIsTheBest - 1767
10. (4) gustienordic - 1752

Taking a look at this weeks highest scorers, it's clear that a lot of points were handed out this week:

1. Mellow Velo - 554
2. Von Mises - 530
3. jencredible - 483
4. Reuell - 462
5. Froome19 - 441

And last let's have a look at this weeks high jumpers in which a very prominent name occours:

1. Froome19 +40
2. Reuell +38
3. Von Mises +29
3. jencredible +29
5. Hugo Koblet +27

That's right: I finally got a reason to mention my own team which is now sitting nicely in 43rd place!

On a sidenote is Mellow Velo the only one in the top 10 who is yet to earn any points from his three most expensive riders - perhaps the era of Mellow Velo will last for a while?

mellow velo has scored with his 3 most expensive riders. Just not this week.

Thanks again Hugo for your hard work.
I'm a bit disappointed to still be outside the top 100:(.
But I have still total faith in my four most expensive riders, and as they have only scored 8,5 % of their 2011 score so far, I think I have room for improvement;)
Also high hopes for my three riders in Le Samyn tomorrow:

BAUGNIES Jerome
GHYSELINCK Jan
SEUBERT Timon
