But Bobridge did the Olympics and a track programme last year.

What does everyone think about Klodi? In my view he seems as if he could go way better than this years performance but he might be too old (less of a doubt) or could be banned. Is the risk worth it?

Not worth it IMO, too old and is on a downward trend. I fail to see him improving much at 37 years old. He might go a little better next year than this year, but I doubt he will be scoring anywhere close to the 800's he has scored in the past.

I would take it if he were on an other team, but since he is riding for Radioschleck, he won't have a lot of opportunity to ride for himself (maybe Paris-Nice and Pays Vasco)

And what's the cost of Pellizotti?

Pellizotti is 987, his 2009 score.

Brambilla is one of the few climber on the team. I think he'll be the leader in the Giro and have a free role in the classics.

What about Guillaume Boivin? He comes off a great season and he is not in the WT. I need a french canadian and I don't know which one I should take. Boivin, Boily or Houle?

Thanks mate

Just submitted the team. The following riders were in my first save but got replaced. Just to have it documented if they score really big next year:rolleyes:

WELLENS Tim
COLBRELLI Sonny
DEHAES Kenny
ARNDT Nikias
POSSONI Morris

In an even earlier save I had Spartacus and young russian Victor Manakov, and in addition I have an Excel save with around 40 riders that almost made the final team. I had promised myself to pick more sprinters this year, but it seems I have failed miserably at that attempt:rolleyes:

I haven't actually even started this, very lazy/not with it. Who's this year's version Marko Kump?

Yeah. :D

Can't find anyone of actual talent going down that far.

Not touching Coen again.

I would take Boivin and Houle. It is a pity but Boily will not be joining a WT team next year.

Thx for the Klodi replies.

I admit I'm new to this so what do people think about Daniel Oss' chances next year.
With Ballan out for probably the entire classics season will he get a much more senior role in the classics that GVA isn't targetting. Or even as co leader?

Naturally with Ballan out Oss will get more opportunities but there is also Hushovd who will probably want to be leader. Anyway I believe Oss can score ~300 points anyway and probably more if he gets to lead in big races.

I have both of them in the team, not sure they will both do well but I think one of them will get a good result and bump their rankings

This game is hard

I've had Oss in my team every year, without much success. I'm dropping him now, so he'll probably score bucketloads of points...

i'm in the same boat. Oss made the shortlist but in the end got nowhere near the final team.

I was stranded on 7510 for a long time, desperately trying to keep everyone I wanted, then found another handy 0 pointer, kicked out my 10 point rider and my team is ready :)

14 sub-100 pointers and one rider who I've picked every year now.

I raise with 16 sub-100 and two ever-presents! :)

Four others were dropped for the first time: Kashechkin, Plaza, Oss and Sicard. Kash was the last to be cut from the final draft. I still harbour big hopes for him. I've finally lost faith in Sicard. So, can he please wait another year before coming good?

Even without Ballan I don't see Oss getting many opportunities to be leader. He'll probably be more of a domestique for the leaders. There's always the chance he could get a really good result from the breakaway in one of the big races, but hoping for that is risky. I had Oss listed as a possible pick but there were always riders I had more faith in to deliver, so he never made it in.

Selecting this years' team is quite hard. The youngsters who got me lot of points last year like Henao, Moser, Quintana and even the likes of Kelderman and Slagter have overpriced themselves.
I'm also not too confident about this years' neo-pros.

The uncertainty surrounding some riders named in the Mantova Investigation makes it even more difficult .

Daniel Oss was in my short list by I've dropped him from the team i have selected for now.

Is anyone taking Bole? An absolute bargain, but being Slovenia's version of Yaroslav Popovych makes him very risky. Also unknown if he will feel at home in VCD's allsorts lineup.

I have him in my team currently. Very risky pick though because he could get popped any time.
If i find a better bargain i'll definitely drop him.

Is it likely that Katusha will take a step down to pro conti if they can't get into the WT? I've got one Katusha rider but am not sure if I should keep him if Katusha goes away.

Is Kash not racing this year? He was on the TdU lineup for Astana but apparently didn't sign the code of conduct?

I thought it would be easy to get under the 7500 mark this year with so many top riders underperforming/out with injuries this year, but I also struggle.
But as this is the name dropping thread; I think this was quite disapponting Hugo. You should at least hint at some names if posting in this thread:D:D

I noticed that also. IMO it's a clinic matter and I'll look forward to it being explained in the future.

I already know who is going to be the most picked rider this year, he's only worth 20 points but I hear he's suppose to be a pretty good climber. Too bad he only cares about a couple races.

Made a point of submitting my team before reading the thread - there's always one obvious pick you miss :( (edit - fuuck it,I swapped him in ;)) Unsure why I didn't put Gilbert in either.

Anyone else buying Rujano? I said he would never materialise at Vacansoleil, but I threw a team together last minute and decided to take the chance.
