Aussie nationals were pretty good for me last year. This year is a totally different story. Bobridge didn't do so good in the TT. And I believe the other Aussie I have in my team is Rory Sutherland, and I don't think he's doing the road race.

Favourites for me shall be one of Meyer, Gerrans/Clarke, Matthews or Porte. Hansen could do well too.

My team:

GILBERT Philippe- i thought would be a very good return and i like him as a rider too.

QUINTANA ROJAS Nairo Alexander- Quintana was a risky pick but he is so talented and a great climber. Those qualities shall suit him well in harder classics too.

GOSS Matthew- I hope he can repeat his 2011 season and hopefully this year pick up a TDF stage win, with the support of a strong train.

PORTE Richie- I feel he is a good climber and ITTer. Those qualities should give him success at stage races and maybe he can top 10 at a GT. Only one other person has him so a risk.

PINOT Thibaut- Can improve on last year where he was great in GT's. He can also go well in classics.

GUARDINI Andrea- I feel he will have got more endurance and being on the WT i think he can compete in more races that give him a sprint finish at the end.

TAARAMÄE Rein- Did great on PdB, then faded during the rest of the TDF. His 2011 Vuelta win showed that he can attack and i hope that he can go better this year again.

ROJAS GIL Jose Joaquin- Very cheap and a good sprinter (I prefer Ventoso though). Hopefully he does not ride the TDF and he picks up more scalps in other races.

FEILLU Romain- This year he did not go so well but he is the feistiest sprinter after Cav.

LANGEVELD Sebastian- Had a bad crash in RVV but he is strong. A top 5 at P-R could await.

OSS Daniel- Hopefully he can ride for himself in some semi-classics and regain the form that saw him come 2nd to Cav in a 2011 TDF stage.

ZAUGG Oliver- Cheap and he made the group in Lombardia this year. He shall be under Riis this year and will hopefully get some chances.

KREDER Wesley- A young talent who packs a good sprint.

THOMAS Geraint- Should get up to 500.

GOOS Marc- A young talent who i think shall do well.

VON HOFF Steele- He should be able to pick up points at Garmin. He has a good sprint and Farrar had a bad 2012. Not many have him so hopefully i can cash in.

HAAS Nathan- came 2nd at the ToB and looks to be stronger from last year.

BOSWELL Ian- I think he is a good rider and i just punted on him.

APPOLLONIO Davide- shall be a co-sprinter at AG2R but showed in the 2011 Giro he can compete in sprints.

NUYENS Nick- crashed this year. Should feature in the classics.

COBO ACEBO Juan Jose- Hopefully he can go well in the early season races and regain his climbing legs/ mental inclination. Cheap as well.

HUSHOVD Thor- Had a virus last year. Should get up to at least 400.

HALLER Marco- Beat Petacchi at Beijing. Should go well on PC or WT level.

WACKERMANN Luca- He is strong and young.

RAVARD Anthony- Had a bad year last year but got +500 in 2011.

COQUARD Bryan- Cheaper then Lutsenko and went well in the Olympics and U23 RR.

WAGNER Robert- Should get a few wins.

HEPBURN Michael- Young, has a good sprint and ITT.

SCHLECK Andy- Cheap and will win the TDF someday.

MORTON Lachlan- A punt but he should get points at some races.

BOBRIDGE Jack- Sad that he has arthritis but notwithstanding he should go ok. Cost nothing.

KENNAUGH Peter- Went well in 2011, cheap and touted by Sky as a GT winner- before they won with Wiggins.

OSPINA HERNANDEZ Argiro Alonso- I hope Ryo is right.

1128 points for S. Sanchez and he has never scored more than 1731

Yeah but since he became good he never did Giro Vuelta. If he puts some classics in and stage races then 2000 is a possibility.I think he will find it hard at 35 yo but he could turn out a good pick yet.

True, but I find 1000 points kind of much to gamble with :/

Matthews already 85 points :) almost 1/4th of last year's score :)

He can't really defend his TDU points, though, as a dom. Plus the first two weeks of the Giro will be for Goss. I hope he'll still get plenty of opportunities in other races, though.

Matthews and Sutton pick up points in the Aussie Nat RR.

Turbo Durbo becomes the first to win the double. Those who have him would be in the early lead.

Bobridge disappointing again, however in the report it's mentioned that he attacked with 4 laps go. Hopefully it'll be good signs for the season.

If Matthews goes to the TDU he will definitely be their lead sprinter.

Good lord, Matthews shows great form and GreenEdge don't pick him for the TDU? What the hell? Oh well, hopefully that means he gets his own chances in some of the winter/spring buildup races. But that seems silly to me.

Off to a good start with Matthews, Dennis and Von Hoff scoring some points.

Seriously daft decision.

Bunch of pessimists the lot of you.

Another way to interpret this is that mm never intended to peak for January and has just podiumed the roads and tt nats, with no form whatever ;)

Prediction: GreenEdge will not win anything in Adelaide.

Gerrans has a decent chance winning the GC. Not many other teams will arrive with riders really aiming for the GC in this race.

There is no place for informed discussion in our rage at not getting more early CQ points

He would have gone ok at San Luis but not going there either. Langkawi would have been an absolute feast. Hopefully it's Mallorca and NOT Qatar for him next.
