I have suprisingly many riders in tour down under. My hopes are in Ferrar, Hass and Ponzi to score some points, as they are not in that many other players teams.
So go Ferrar for the sprints and hass for the GC.

Few points from Ponzi, Ferrari and Rojas. Not bad.

Does anyone has Renshaw? I dont think anybody has him or Demare or Gorilla.

No points for Rojas. Only the top-8 get points anymore.

The CQ point scales were changed as of 1/1/2013...

I thought it was top 8 in "normal" WT stage races like Down Under last year too? Can't load CQ here to check...

Ponzi better get busted soon otherwise a lot of us are going to regret it.

I had him in my team at 7500 but was a bit concerned about picking the Mantova guys (Pozzato being the obvious exception).

When I gained a point I dropped him for Aru, convincing myself that not only was Ponzi a risky pick but he'd probably be riding for Guardini a lot of the time. I left Guardini out thinking he wouldn't get to the sprint in enough WT races, but didn't think that some of the other fast Astana guys would get more freedom...like Ponzi. :D

Update 2: Calm before the storm

The international cycling season finally got kicked off last week, but CQ game wise it could hardly be felt. Only 849 points total were earned this week which is less than 7 points average for each team.

hilltopfinisher earned the most points this week with 79 points - all coming from Gaëtan Bille who finished 3rd overall in Tropicale Amissa Bongo. Dim was a close second as he scored 72 this weak. 12 coming from Christophe Kern and 60 from one of his obscure picks, Tsgabu Gebremariam Grmay, who finished 5th overall in Tropicale Amissa Bongo and has now almost doubled his 2012 score already. Nice pick Dim.

This week's top scorers

1. hilltopfinisher - 79
2. Dim - 72
3. Blackbandit222 - 48
3. bicing - 48
5. cj2002 - 45

Because of the many points - everything's relative you know - hilltopfinisher and Dim scored this week they are also our two high jumpers, moving up 45 and 38 places respectively. Interestingly, but not surprising, the top 5 for this week's high jumpers is identical to the top 5 for this week's top scorers.

This week's high jumpers

1. hilltopfinisher +45
2. Dim +38
3. Blackbandit222 +28
4. bicing +26
5. cj2002 +25

The top 10 remains more or less unchanged this week, but we will be seeing a lot of changes in next week's update.

Top 10

1. (1) Akubra - 466
2. (2) King Of The Worlds - 270
3. (3) AAC1983 - 230
4. (6) bubbles - 195
5. (7) Ferminal - 191
6. (8) VeloRooms - 189
6. (4) coinneach - 189
8. (5) Kvinto - 184
9. (9) ingsve - 170
9. (9) sublimit - 170

Thanks for the update Hugo. I think i'm already higher than I was all last season.

Its nice to see one of my uniques from last year, Gaëtan Bille, have a decent start this year(it's true this game does make you follow more riders).

Missed rider gripe #1 JIM Songezo - CN ran an interesting article on him during my team making process and he came quite close to making it. Already 5x his score.

Not me :D
Dennis is out, Guardini failed me in this stage, Sutton was nowhere to be seen, but at least I still have Ponzi. Hopefully he has a good season (hopefully better than 2011) and Mantova doesn't take him out.

My anti-doping ethics always go out the window when picking my team for a game  If anything I lean towards guys who are probably juicing.

No points for me last week so I've dropped to my lowest ever position in the game. Although that isn't hard considering it is my first year.
At least Howard has given me a few points this week so far, hopefully he can get up for a win before the next update.
