Who's doing updates for this these days?

Hugo came back to do last week's so I assumed he was ready to do regular updates again. Since it's his game I don't want to interfere and I think he should have the priority to post new updates. However, it's been a while since I last saw him post so I am not sure he'll be able to make the most recent update (and he almost always posts the update before Wednesday the weeks when he does post one). That's why, if people want me to, I can make an update for this week (well of the ranking that got out monday so last week really).

If you can, do it. I'm sure many would appreciate to see before and after (TDF) update.

If you could that would be nice. I'm sure hugo will not mind and if he is working on it he can always post after you. CQmanager did mid game updates and that wasn't an issue. But I think it would be very interesting to get a pre-tour update so we know where we stand

As I was preparing the update I realized that the last one Hugo posted was 2 weeks ago so this one will cover two weeks (mainly nationals and first couple of stages from Austria/TDF).

Update 25 : Geraint Too Fast is the first to break even

Top Scorers
Jraama is the top scorer thanks mainly to Devolder, Dumoulin, Rojas, Gilbert, Cavendish, Seeldrayers, Millar, Roux and Hushovd. However he did not score that much more than the average score of 524 points, showing that, apart from Akubra scoring a 0 with his all Australian team, most teams are very close this week.
1 Jraama 893
2 Skibby the bush kangaroo 846
3 Ambiturner93 826
4 squire 819
4 Fowsto Cope-E 819

Highest Jumpers

Jraama is also the week's biggest improver, climbing no less than 33 places. The most impressive however might just be Ambiturner93 who improved from 35th to 16th.
1 Jraama 33
2 dogboy 21
3 Ambiturner93 19
4 squire 17
4 Martin 17

Top 10
Geraint Too Fast, our leader is, unsurprisingly, the first to break even (actually he already had managed the feat last week but there was no update so it's the first time he officially is in the green). In fact he was only a couple days slower than ingsve in 2011 who went on to win the game. Will history repeat itself ? Perhaps but these last few days ironted and element swapped places and closed in on the top spot. AAC1983 and nordicICE1024 entered the top 10 filling in for chinaboy and adamski101 who dropped to 11th and 12th respectively.
1 Geraint Too Fast 7825
2 ironted 7427
3 element 7332
4 SteelyDan 7305
5 bicing 7094
6 Dim 7064
7 Falze 7002
8 will10 6902
9 nordicICE1024 6871
10 AAC1983 6736

I really didn't expect to be doing this well. The main rationale behind my team was that it should to be fun to follow, and being competitive was secondary.

Exactly that for me, except I'm doing slightly less well!

Things aren't looking quite so good for me for the second half of the season though, and a lot depends on what Schleck does in the next few weeks - might be game over as I forgot to put him in my team.

Aah, I'm back from a wonderful vacation, ready to do the next updates once again after some busy weeks!

Update #26: Blackbandit tops a quiet week

Even though the Tour is underway, not many points are awarded. That can be seen in the "This week's top scorers" list which is topped by Blackbandit222 with just 405 points coming from Cavendish, Devenyns, Aru and Fuglsang among others.

This week's top scorers:

1. Blackbandit222 - 405
2. ironted - 354
3. Panda Claws - 338
4. *Falze* - 330
4. Ambiturner - 330

Because of his relatively many points, Blackbandit222 is also this week's high jumper as he moves up 18 places which is 5 more than 2nd placed auscyclefan94.

This week's high jumpers:

1. Blackbandit222 +18
2. auscyclefan94 +13
3. dogboy +11
4. Jraama +10
5. Panda Claws +9
5. FlorinM +9
5. Martin +9

In the top 10, the few points handed out shows. No team moves more than 1 place up or down, except for AAC1983 who loses 3 places and drops from 10th to 13th, while chinaboy moves into the top 10. SteelyDan pushes element out of the top 3, while ironted cuts a bit off Geraint Too Fast's lead.

Top 10:

1. (-) Geraint Too Fast - 8053
2. (-) ironted - 7781
3. (+1) SteelyDan - 7558
4. (-1) element - 7509
5. (-) bicing - 7381
6. (+1) *Falze* - 7332
7. (-1) Dim - 7306
8. (-) will10 - 7049
9. (-) nordicICE1024 - 6961
10. (+1) chinaboy - 6958

Update #27: Is our defending champion on his way to make a huge comeback?

Once again a pretty quiet week. With Froome and Kittel in his team, chinaboy is our topscorer, while Martin, with the sprinting duo of Kittel and Cavendish takes 2nd place just ahead of Fowsto Cope-E who also has Kittel and Cavendish in his team.

This week's top scorers:

1. chinaboy - 447
2. Martin - 371
3. Fowsto Cope-E - 355
4. Mellow Velo - 331
5. Jancouver - 321

Fowsto Cope-E, also among this week's top scorers, is our high jumper this week, as he moves from 87th to 67. Martin, who was also on this list last week, takes another good jump and is now in 32nd place, while last year's winner, skidmark, finally makes some noise. There's still a long way to go though, as he's currently sitting in 74th place. Can he salvage anything from this season?

This week's high jumpers:

1. Fowsto Cope-E +20
2. Martin +16
3. skidmark +14
4. the_fool_on_the_hill +12
4. NairoQ +12

Incredibly, nothing happened in the top 10. Well, that's not completely true, chinaboy managed to jump two places to 8th while pushing will10 down two places.

Top 10:

1. Geraint Too Fast - 8306
2. ironted - 8056
3. SteelyDan - 7876
4. element - 7674
5. bicing - 7549
6. *Falze* - 7498
7. Dim - 7493
8. chinaboy - 7405
9. nordicICE1024 - 7152
10. will10 - 7140

Oh goody. I'm appearing for the first time on the weekly list since January. Although the fact that my best rider is a 42-year old pariah riding on a Polish pro conti team says more about how my team is doing than anything, really. I was like 'yeah, Rebellin got me some points and then there was that stage that Trentin won and Rojas was 4th... what else?' And then I looked at the spreadsheet and it was... nothing else, except for 6 points for even more minor placings throughout the week for Rojas. Yeesh.

Well, both years before now I've had spectacular back ends of the season, so here's hoping. Maybe Farrar wins every sprint stage in all the North American races, maybe Guardini and Matthews and von Hoff and Appollonio and Pozzato and Breschel finally find sprints to their liking, maybe Anacona finally starts racing somewhere, sometime. Maybe Sicard... nah, never mind, I've given up on him. And Bobridge. And Pinot. And Nuyens. Oh dear, this will be a long summer/fall.

If you think that's bad consider the fact that my biggest source of points for the TDF is likely to be Sayar getting busted despite the fact that my 7 most expensive picks are riding in France

Hahaha, that is definitely putting it into perspective. Anyone else wanna try a pithy sentence or two to describe how terrible your team is doing? This is fun, it's much easier than saying 'my team did awesome again and I'm in first' because then you feel like a jerk. Misery loves company.

At least Sayar will be a sweet pick in 2 years when he comes back and dopes again, but is smarter and doesn't get caught...

1st JVDB and now JCP leave the TDF.

My 2 big hopes for tour points ends with approx. 2 points in total.

Title challenge over :(
