The 2020 CQ Ranking Manager Thread

Page 36 - Get up to date with the latest news, scores & standings from the Cycling News Community.
Before we move on to the 2021 version of the game for good, I wonder if someone is able to compute the best possible team for 2020. I've always enjoyed seeing the best picks in previous years.
I'll have a go.

The "Impeccable picks" (if you are not familiar with this from the CQ games I run, these are the riders who scored higher than everyone else in that price range)

So, for example, if last year you had 32 names in your squad, and still had 650 points in your budget, you would have been better off picking Almeida and sending in your team with 538 points 'wasted' than any other selection you might have made (but how many of us would be courageous enough to leave that many points unspent?)

You could have sent that set in as an 11 man team well within budget (7378) and got a winning score of 11617.

I make no guarantee that this bunch couldn't be beaten (@Hakkie2 usually does better than me in trying to find maximum combinations), but the best I have found is:

Spending 7499 for 17692 points (I had a slightly higher score with a team including Brajkovic, but realised that he would not have been available at his 2019 price)

And don't forget that the 2021 CQ Manager game is not the only one starting this month: there is also the 3 year long Emerging Riders CQ game as well [/shameless plug]
