My most expensive GC rider off to a good start with a strong stage win today. Killer instinct in attacking his teammate to deliver th glory for my CQ team. Chapeau Santi.

Now I'm kicking myself. I was very close to picking Rick Pluimers - he was the last rider I decided to lay off the team as he was just a bit too expensive to fit into my line-up with five guys combining for about 5300 point.

Then I was really surprised when he wasn't picked at all and I thought that I might have overestimated him and was a little relieved - he also never featured in any discussions in the thread.

Now I'm just annoyed - also because my team really is taking its sweet time in getting going in general.

Pluimers was actually picked by @Mountain Newts.

Okay, I didn't check again, but the point still stands.

I think he can go 800+.
You have anything extra to go by other than his results for this prediction? Cuz I noticed him in Renewi Tour, and I did of course see his name when looking through Tudor, but I didn't really ever consider him as a CQ pick. His record so far doesn't really scream points machine to me and he was expensive. But team and age are of course on his side, and he could benefit from a good calendar I guess. And not being out for four months, as it looks like he was last year.

Made a few small steps towards supporting multiple games (like Spring Classics) on the website. None of it works though but you see a selection box but currently it doesn't do anything. Later default choice will be this game but one can also select other games and then tables etc. will show results of the game. Based on direct references it can also be loaded/linked directly then.

He seemed to take a step up last fall, and he has ambitions of becoming a classics rider. His performances in Renewi Tour and the Super 8 Classic seemed to confirm an aptitude for such races. He injured his knee at MSR last year which made his entire spring a wipeout where he couldn't compete at his real level. He has also spent some time in the De Kleijn train which I think he will continue doing, which means he won't pick up too many easy secondary points which is a point against him.

Nice points for Romeo and Penhoet, who is 2nd on GC after the carnage today. Not a very good at TT, so can't see him staying there.

The Bresseges farce has ended my interest this week, with all 7 riders out. Very mediocre start to the season so far.

Thought one player, rufs, had Jack Burke. Jack who now is on training camp with IPT (who have no places). However, just before deadline he removed him for another rider. That I missed initially so was looking for who had Burke but couldnt find it. Would have been a great story if he had made it on a team while being selected by someone here.

Not to be. Unfortunately. For both.

Happy to see Buitrago (class of '22) dominating this week. My 2025 team is not doing too much although Söderqvist was impressive at the finish.

With the way Söderqvist is riding right now it's surprising that they didn't make him part of the WT squad for this year. Would have been interesting to see him at Roubaix this year.

Ticking along nicely with some promising performances .... Brunel will score ok this year I reckon. Bittner beaten by Kooj, but not by far, and rode a canny finish. Martinez should score GC points. Happier with Blackmore now. August looking OK too. And Romeo looking like a very good pick already.

He probably wont be lacking offers from other teams as well.
Ya, that as well. Keeping him at the devo team, you'd think they'd do the Visma thing and have in the contract when he is set to move to the WT team. They seem to be treating him well by bringing him to pro level races so chances are probably good he'll sign a new contract with them if they offer one soon but they can't really drag their feet.

Remi Cavagna showing why he was an almost default pick this year. 31 points right away after a year where he only collected 5 pointers for finishing WT races and 30 points in the National ITT.

Just goes to show what a change in environment can do for a rider. Similar vibe to when Markus Hoelgaard came back to Uno-X last season.

Still 44 teams that didn't pick him.

While I did end up picking Cavagna and always expected him to be able to improve his score this year, he obviously wouldn't have collected 25 points, I believe it is, in this race under normal circumstances.

Ah, the first GC that appeared on PCS had him at 11th overall. So ya 25 points. Still far better riding in the last 2 days than anything he did last season. Mind also that he lost over 1.5 minutes on the first 2 easy stages so without that he would have been top 3 in the end which probably would have been good enough for perhaps a top 10 with everyone still in the race.
