I am often in awe at the contribution of non-native English speakers here, and extra contributions like new idioms are a delight.

I shall try to adopt the concept of "speaking oneself warm" into my conversations and hope its use becomes widespread. (I'm assuming the sense is of persuading oneself that a mere hope can be an expectation)

It's because CQ update their overall once a day. So if you click on Cian within the next 5-6 hours he still has a zero:

That's probably because on CQ he is now PESCADOR CASTRO Diego, having previously been PESCADOR CASTRO Diego Fernando (alerting @skidmark to that).

CQ's name changing habits are very frustrating in running these games, and sometimes thoroughly illogical: Elynor Backstedt lacks an umlaut in her surname, her sister has one; Caoimhe O'Brien recently had the apostrophe in her surname replaced with a space.

Ya I manually changed Pescador's name on all his owners' tabs but did not do so on the popularity tab at the time and forgot to get back to it. It's changed now.

I was going to put up a launch post on Sunday or Monday. But seeing as you have started the publicity trail for it already, it will once again be 12 riders, 3000 points as of 31 Dec (so same prices as for this game), and any 1.WT or 1.PT races from Omloop until Eschborn-Frankfurt (so 1 March to 1 May this year).

We briefly talked about this already but for everyone:
I'll make a team creation page on the website. Then there won't be any issues with changing names etc. Teams will not be visible to anyone else until after first of March (except to Armchair Cyclist). I'll also join the game and will be the first to store team so I can't be accused of cheating (and share team with AC). Just needs a few more days to be ready. It already takes into account conditions of the game (points, # riders reference date, game period).

General question: Would people mind hmhaving to create a login so it will be linked to this team and any future iterations of games? Then it's all linked going forward which makes it more robust and also less likely a script robot starts entering random stuff.

It's now possible to claim your team after you sign-up through google (so I don't need to mess with passwords etc.). Afterwards, still to be put live, you can create teams for upcoming games.

I would rather submit it manually and I like the layout in the spreadsheet more, as the riders is stuck at their place and dont move around because of points scored. All the different tabs in it.

Site is good for quickly checking stats after races. Combo search been a good addition.

I like the updates here in the thread and that game is mainly run through this site and the forum. I am not tryna sign up and create a log-in somewhere else.

Thats where I am at with it.

Like Salvarani, I like that the forum is run through the forum, especially as it's easier to discuss things here. However, I like the layout of the website, and the fact that it gets updated more frequently.

Curious for feedback then on Team Creation. Will tell me if I should spend time on it or not (if excel is prepared). Not finished yet (you can't save) and will be after login once you can save to make sure it doesn't end up with a lot of spam (as the internet is infested with bots):

Please let me know if that is functional enough. You can easily filter on name or on points. If desired I can add points from year prior (not yet for specific races of Spring game, as I didnt save race specific data last year). Don't have information on teams, nations etc. currently so can't filter on it.

What it does: Enforce number of riders, Ensures you cannot pick a rider twice. Ensures you can't breach point limit. Allows for filtering on name or point ranges (just type and hit enter).

Yes, you should) Don't listen to dinosaurus here, they still will have their forum)) Newbies would be happy to have a more convenient way to create a team.

Maybe one day we will grow to the telegram chat, but maybe it's too much ;););)

It's going to be quite a big week for everyone I think, with so many riders engaged at some point. Some game players might even find that all their riders have scored by next Sunday. I'm really looking forward to it.
