This week is going suspiciously well for my team. Just waiting for the other shoe to drop...
And Hayter's points actually mean something for you, as you are sandwiched between two hayters. Of course it will be a minor miracle if he doesn't somehow scew this race up in the remaining stages.

Söderqvist is turning out to be an unexpectedly okay pick for you. And he's thankfully on his way to making himself too expensive for next year.

Despite the relentless onslaught of Magnier and Del Torro, it looks like Simmons' Lombardia points will be enough to save my top ten placing. It's a shame that it will probably be at the expense of Qazaqstan as we've been top three for a lot of the year, but have both suffered a late-season collapse.

Guess I'll just have to find a way to freeze the GC in Holland then.

So, the other night, I had a bit of a silly thought:
Is is possible to make a team consisting entirely of placenames? So far, I've come up with this (using last year's scores):

MILAN Jonathan - 1204
CARAPAZ MONTENEGRO Richard Antonio - 1055
BILBAO LOPEZ DE ARMENTIA Pello - 782
BARCELO ARAGON Fernando - 225
VERONA QUINTANILLA Carlos - 219
DALBY Simon - 125
SALBY Alexander - 83
VAN BAARLE Dylan - 35
BERLIN Antoine - 29
GANZABAL BILBAO Ander - 9
MILAN Matteo - 2
GRENAAE Alfred - 0

Which is obviously not 33, or even 25... So... does anyone know of any riders who - like Salby and Dalby - shares their names with some random village in their home country?

(I deliberately chose not to include people with the first name of 'Milan')

No, it has been very slow and just had to cross the page down since nothing happened when trying to navigate it.
@Devil's Elbow as well.

Still problems? I haven't really paid attention to it but when I just opened it the main rankings loaded instantly.

Although, I see my own teams page only shows the riders not the other graphs / tables.

Page code is on a machine Im not using much anymore but if I remember I will have a look to debug! Maybe database just got slow and I need to do some optimizing or cleaning.

I got to the main page now as well.

Clicked on my team, but it is missing the graphs/tables as you say.

Then I tried going back. Didnt work.

Tried to go to combo search. Didnt work.

So I just had to cross the page down again.

Louis Sutton (London suburb)
Tom Portsmouth
Callum Thornley (County Durham)
Jack Brough (near Hull)
Eddie Dunbar (East of Edinburgh)

Kimmage is both an area of Dublin, and a cyclist from Dublin. I did read his book, can't remember if he is from the suburb that bears his name. But he's even older than me: probably not a pick for the game.

Magnus Sheffield seems an obvious one for your list. And Tiller (Rasmus) is an area/community just outside Trondheim in Norway. Also a lot of small places in Norway called Holter (Ådne)

Chris and Lucas Hamilton (South-east of Glasgow, or near Toronto)
Jai Hindley (between Manchester and Wigan)
Declan Irvine (Ayrshire)
Abel Balderstone (between Blackburn and Preston)
Stefan Berwick (English/Scots border)
Jackson Medway (North Kent)
Sean Quinn (County Clare)

Thanks. Will try to debug later... Also got a message now that daily update failed so seems to be server issues as I haven't changed code for months. Anyway, will be fixed for next season :)

Already feared until yesterday, that I would lose my top10 overall placing with the last update to @Popchu. He has Tarling, Vine, E.Hayter, J. Christen in his ranks with a 300 points lead for me. But with E.Hayter out of Holland and J.Christen also not performing in China and therefore Lafay with some surprising points, Top10 should be secured for me now.

And for the last time this year; my top-5 scorers this week:

Honoré: 116 points (4th in GC, 3rd on a stage, and 5th in the KOM in Guangxi)
Bjerg: 28 points (6th in CdN)
Bevort: 16 points (9th in CdN)
Lund: 14 points (16th in GC, 3rd on a stage in Holland)
Søjberg: 12 points (4th on a stage, and made it to the finish in Guangxi.)

And since Johansen also made it to the finish in Guangxi, I scored points in China from a guy with more hair than Alexander Salby:

And now for something completely different! Thanks to @Armchair Cyclist and @vladimir for the help with my rather silly question, here's what I ended up with (again, using last year's cost):

MILAN Jonathan - 1204
CARAPAZ MONTENEGRO Richard Antonio - 1055
BILBAO LOPEZ DE ARMENTIA Pello - 782
SHEFFIELD Magnus - 618
HINDLEY Jai - 553
DUNBAR Edward - 342
TILLER Rasmus Fossum - 269
BARCELO ARAGON Fernando - 225
VERONA QUINTANILLA Carlos - 219
HOLTER Aadne - 202
HAMILTON Christopher - 191
QUINN Sean - 165
DALBY Simon - 125
SALBY Alexander - 83
HAMILTON Lucas - 64
BALDERSTONE ROUMENS Abel - 38
MEDWAY Jackson - 35
VAN BAARLE Dylan - 35
BERWICK Sebastian - 30
BERLIN Antoine - 29
THORNLEY Callum - 10
GANZABAL BILBAO Ander - 9
SUTTON Louis - 6
PORTSMOUTH Tom - 5
MILAN Matteo - 2
BROUGH Jack - 0
GRENAAE Alfred - 0
IRVINE Declan - 0

Total: 6.296

Don't think it would have beena very good team, as the three most expensive riders all scored less this year than they did last year.
As you can see I went with Sebastian Berwick rather than Stefan Berwick, as I couldn't seem to find a Stefan Berwick in the CQ database.

Congratulations to @Salvarani for winning the game.
See you all next year.

BTW, don't you get a 1000 bonus points for having the rider with most race days?
Not that it would help me much...
