Update #8: Eyeballs Out Balls Out
It was a bit of a sparser week in the CQ game, with of course Strade Bianche as the main attraction. As a result, scores were modest, and the teams already at the top had some good weeks, locking down their position atop the standings.
This Week's Top Scorers
It was a close one at the top, but Eyeballs Out eked out a win. Of course, the biggest contributor to their team was the most popular rider in the game, with Paul Seixas getting 132 points for 2nd place at Strade Bianche, raising the bar for his 73 owners. Eyeballs Out had notable contributions as well from Andreas Kron (52 points, 38 teams), Mauri Vansevenant (48, 22) and Jordan Labrosse (40, 5), while also pulling in between 12-28 points from four other riders.
The other spots on the podium came from a tie this week, although Squire and jsem94 had some difference in riders. Each had Seixas/Kron, but whereas Squire's team score was largely helped by unique pick Santiago Buitrago (130 points) and rare pick Morgado (40, 5), jsem94 had Tiberi (66, 16), Lamperti (56, 25) as well as Vansevenant.
This Week's High Movers
A different set of names here, as some of the top scorers were already quite high up in the overall and therefore didn't have much room to move. yoyokt is the only team to move up double digits this week, with a lineup including Seixas/Lamperti/Vansevenant as well as Simone Gualdi (40, 8). Qazaqstan, vladimir and Bicycle Boy all tie for 2nd in the ranking with similar lineups save for Bicycle Boy's unique pick Gianni Vermeersch scoring 83.
Green Jersey Competition
Last week's co-leader slow climber takes sole possession of the lead after scoring 20 points this week, while Rufs leapfrogs into 2nd after scoring another 26 this week. The remainder of the top 5 doesn't score this week and Eyeballs Out's weekly win has their team only a few points out in 6th.
Top 10 Overall
Rufs and slow climber finished 4th and 6th on the week, with 353 and 343 points respectively, so they solidify their places atop the standings by over 200 points. Further down, jsem94 leapfrogs a bunch of teams after 2nd on the week, and Shakes manages to hold down a spot in the top 10 despite not having Seixas. No moves in and out of the top 10 this week.
A classic early spring week is going on this week, with the overlapping Paris-Nice and Tirenno-Adriatico, and lots of riders in action.
