This race lost it's fear factor when Contador won the Angliru in 2017. No CN fave is ever winning this

Yeah, that was not close at all :)

I wonder if Contador would have had to return this trophy if he had not won on Angliru and he subsequently would have been awarded the stage win on Los Machucos.

Jasper Philipsen got mugged by the Tour Down Under! So unfair, he would have won this competition with both hands tied behind his back, if if weren't for that jury in TDU.

Last week would have been his 27th! top 10 finish without a win hadn't they disqualified Ewan early in the season, effectively screwing over Philipsen's chances in this prestigious competition for the rest of the season. To me, he will be the moral winner of 2019.

Next year he'll grab over twenty top 10 places again, just to mess it up by winning Paris-Tours.
