Speaking of Twitter, Vaughters tweeted that he has been blocked by LA.

Dim is in good company. :D

great stuff

also love his quote in the times from back in february (“In 2009, the tactics worked in his favour and Astana were soft-pedalling a bit to not embarrass Lance.")

which joe papp brought up not many hours ago
and btw is what brought on the news that vaughters has been blocked by armstrong

The other thing Publicus, does it look like Macur talked to them and knows their identities?

That's a problem, if true. She's a friend of Armstrong's, first name basis, etc. Her article about Landis' appearance at the Tour of California was scurrilous for the NYT (describing him as acting like a big man, important, etc.). Gratuitous insults....

Professionally, she has to take more care for the NYT. She's in somewhat of a conflict of interest (too close to/admiring of the prime player).

Edit: her last Twitter comment is that of a fan. This is problematic. "If you believe this, I have a bridge to sell you: RT @lancearmstrong This will be my final Tour de France. It's been a great ride. #cycling".

I wonder about the flirtation element.

Talk about scurrilous. She may be on a first-name basis, but I don't know if she'd call herself a "friend" of Armstrong. Where do you get any of that? She's an adult, not some fawning teen.

is twitter playing up or am i blocked by, of all people, taylor effing phinney?

Possibly anyone from this forum, wouldn't that be likely? I don't twit and really think that level of narcissim isn't professional. Taylor should have a publicist if he has something to say for the time being.

Jeebus! It's like junior high school kids deciding who is a member of the cool kids club. It is rather pathetic to see full grown, middle aged men acting this way.

What I gather his latest updates are all concerning the great LA and what he thinks of Phinney, so if you're blocked by LA you'll probably get blocked by TP

all of these tweeter news make me more and more convinced that dave z sang like a canary whilst agent novitzky struggled to keep up his notes (the guy is notorious for not using a tape recorder)

If he's taking any counsel on how to survive professionally he should be doing the opposite. He looks to be the resurrection of US cycling after LA's fall and it would be endorsement suicide to tie himself up. Don't know what, if or how he's tied to RS's business plan.

Sorry, off-topic, but -- Taylor Phinney is a douche. I think every ****ing photo of him has him doing that stupid pose, like his dad just bought him a Ferrari. Le Nouvel Roi des Douches.

Don't worry, you haven't missed much. Just a grown-ass man being all excited about the new Harry Potter movie and also modeling some white tube socks from the 1970s with a RadioShack kit.

He prefers to be referred to as "a Certain Mr. Lance Armstrong". Now kneel down and lick your lips in repentance.

You also need to pay Paul Sherwen a royalty every time you use any one of his euphemisms for him.

As to who the two riders are, Zabriskie and Hincapie are just my educated guesses. They are the only two people still riding who are yet to publicly react to Landis' accusations.

Michael Barry has already begun publicly pretending nothing ever happened and it's not like any of the Retirement Shack old men are going to change their culture of lying.

Heck, even the Hog today lied yet again. In case you didn't see, he once again repeated his delusional fantasy that "he dropped Induráin", when anyone who saw that stage knows very well that has absolutely nothing to do with what really happened. Already a month or so ago he'd said he was "the only man who ever beat Induráin". Not only did he never do that, a lot of other people did.

When you have an A-grade liar like that leading the team, you can't reasonably expect the riders on it to come out with any sort of truth.

Armstrong to intern: "Hey intern, take every name that follows BikePure, CyclingFansAnonymous, or NYVelocity, and block them from my tweets! That'll show them."

Read the board last year for the consensus on the balance of her opinions. It may be changing. Prob. like most folks, she now knows what side her bread is buttered on.

Her twitter comments are the words of a lingering fan: "If you believe this, I have a bridge to sell you: RT @lancearmstrong This will be my final Tour de France. It's been a great ride. #cycling".

Think that's plain enough/fawning enough.

BTW: I hope to see if Lance can beat the Schlecks. Now you'll be thoroughly confused.:D

I think there was even coverage of him apologizing to Indurain for wheel sucking all the way to the line because Mig needed the GC time. It was classic bad form all the way.

If you can't see that, I can't help you....

First of all, I could give fulk about the board's consensus. Second, you're accusing her of being under Armstrong's influence because why -- because he's a man and she's a woman? She has the hots for him? What is this "flirtation element" BS you speak of? Are you 12 years old?

Lastly, the board's consensus that you so trust has failed to agree on the meaning of the tweet you cite above. Does it mean she think he won't ride this Tour at all? Or that he won't retire? Or that she doesn't believe "it's been a great ride"? Twitter is not exactly the Delphic fricking Oracle.
