Now it all makes sense. That scoundrel Frankie introduced doping to the morally pristine halls of the USPS pro cycling team.

Welcome to Murdoch journalism. Gotta admit, it crafts a nice story.

What time is it right now on the east coast? Anyone got a hard copy yet?

Got it. Trying to compare it with the online article while watching VS preview show.

The least quotable rider in the peloton?

Maybe he might say something quotable if pressed on this. As I recall he was fairly evasive at TOC.

Part of the problem with this story is that the Uniballer was obviously well prepared for it and had his press statement all ready (as did McQuaid), they've obviously got to their friends in the media as well, so the Uniballer denial takes precedence over the accusations...

I am sure that Paul, Phil, Harmon etc will all be well onside by the time the coverage kicks off in a few minutes.

Now we know that Contador's wheels in 09 paid for Armstrong's drugs!

Hardcopy of WSJ is the same as online version with some nice pictures of the cabin.

There was a lot left out of the article. Think the injunction stopped some of it.

Glad Floyd is in a better place. Sounds like speaking to a therapist really helped.

Give him sometime and hope he can work himself back to a normal life and job.

I still think its all downhill for Armstrong but time will tell. Armstrong now saying he's retiring and lots of talk about kids, families and cancer.

well we all notice he is not threatening the WSJ with defamation and gonna sue their ÄŜŜ big time is he now. Wonder why:rolleyes:

Doping
selling team bikes to fund epo
Strippers
Illegal Recreational drugs

nah nothing in their worth suing a huge international newspaper about, no one reads it, won't damage his reputation....

wonder if some former '1 night stands' will come out of the closet now that the story is making major newspapers......he could play a round of golf with tiger and get the low down of how to beat this and then they can go score....

Or perhaps being saved for a drip, drip, drip of allegations. Don't forget that newspapers like to spin a story out over a few days. My guess is that some of what has been left out will come out over the next few days.

As I say, the big question is how much traction the story gets from other media outlets. There seems to be concerted effort to bury the story outside of the WSJ.

True. If the tabloids jump on it the hookers will come out of the woodwork to pay the rent. What's betting they all look like his mum?

Kudos to the article. There's not one mention of cancer. The TdS story didn't make the cut but I'm intrigued by Ferrari actually administering the blood and drugs. CONI are you reading this?

I can't find the case of the missing bikes story in the print version. fwiw, there is no other story about the TdF in the paper that I can find, certainly not in the sports section.

Soooooo.....

What is missing from the print article that would have made it much bettah?

A lot.

EPO use at the Vuelta and never testing positive. TdS payment. Knowing when the testers were going to arrive.

One reference to Armstrong calling Landis after his positive but there were many more calls and pressure.

More about the Girona apartment. Bloodbag down the toilet story. Speaking with Hamilton.

The article took a week longer then expected to get public, not unusual with the amount of fact checking a top newspaper like the WSJ requires.

Armstrong did blow and banged some hookers? It is a well known story in cycling circles but no way the WSJ is going to run it unless they have more then 2 sources so it gets watered down to "There appeared to be cocaine in the room".

I guess there is nothing new in the printed version

There is actually less in print when you consider there isn't the additional article about the missing bikes.

glad I didn't rush out and buy it this morning like I planned. Maybe some of the things The Hog is mentioning will show up in part 2 or 3? I hope so, sounds like good stuff.

What's fun is that on thursday at the team presentation on Eurosport UK, I think it was Kirby, said that nothing from the Landis allegations stuck to Lance yet. His co-commentator was quite quiet after that. I wonder what's he going to say today

Phil and Paul on Versus now dismissing the Landis claims as sourgrapes and that he must have a new book coming out. We believe in Lance they said.

Let's ask some of the girls: http://www.yellowroseaustin.com/

That is hardly a shock - look at it this way - BBC ignoring it, CNN attacking Landis, Yahoo attacking Landis, ignored in the Guardian etc etc.
