Awesome... I forgot to record the stage but looks like a great result for the Dutchies! Is that enough for top10?

acf lost a bet? :D

At the moment, yes. But with Vattenfall counting as well it's likely Germany'll jump back over you. If you manage to sneak 5 more points somewhere you jump over Luxembourg though, and they won't be scoring any more points most likely. Switzerland has Albasini in fourth in Poland, so they're good. Kazakhstan got points with Vino in San Seb.
On the up side - Veelers scored a couple of points in the third stage, which makes him the ninth Dutchie to score points on the indiv ranking, so if you manage the top ten you'll get to send 9 instead of 8.

The point is, Vattenfall doesn't count.

The UCI uses the ranking at exactly 15 august.

The ranking after Vattenfall is made the day after (16 august). Like with all PT/HIS races, the ranking is made up the day after...

It doesn't? Interesting. I wasn't sure on that, and as always, couldn't find info on the uci site. Looking good for Holland if that's true!

Then for European teams not finishing in the top 10, it is determined by your position based on riders *only* riding from Pro Conti teams - so UK get to send 3 riders as the likes of Cavendish, Swift, thomas, Wiggins, Millar et al are all at ProTour teams, so none of their results in *any* race count, whereas, for instance, Poland/Lithuania/Estonia all are higher than the UK as their riders are at PRoConti teams (despite not necessarily doing as well as the British riders in general).

Another instance of how mad it is is that the UK are actually 14th in the World Tour, marginally behind France and Slovenia, yet are *21st* in Europe (marginally ahead of Austria, (who out of their 310 points, over 100 points were from their national champs, wherreas Britain received just 27)?!?! (France, due to their teams having guarantteed entrance to the tdf and becoming proconti, are actually 2nd!, with Slovenia 7th)

Well yeah. I totaly agree. its a dumb system thought up by an imbecile/imbeciles at the UCI. It does tend to devalue the competition in my eyes.

UCI need to sort the individual rankings system out and make it more like the tennis system. Every pro rider should have some sort of ranking and then from that you can figure who goes to the Worlds.

lol thank god. I didn't see the stage. Just got back home and checked the stage result
*...ah nice Greipel wins.. makes sense. Well seems like a bunchsprint so no changes in the GC. Great that makes THE GREAT Mollema keep his 3rd place in the GC.*
*WHAT?! No Mollema.. oh damn he must've crashed*

Till I read your post. The posts before yours are about a part in the track which looks like ice so I was only getting more worried :D

Quote of the Eurosport day, from David Harmon.
.......and of course, Ballker Molleema, Rabo's climbing sensation!

A bit hairy with all that surface water. Good job there wasn't a major pile up.
Well done, Dan and Andre the Giant.
