He said 1/3 of the budget raise will go into the team structure. They want to get the best out of the riders. He also said Roglic was paid with the savings of 2022/2023. But with new money they could probably resign Hindley and Vlasov. Pithie won't be so cheap and perhaps they will save some money.
He also said he won't pay more then market value. The team will pay fair and help the riders with a good structure and the best possibilities to develope. I think Red Bull wants to be the benchmark in developing riders.

Jokes aside this is now a rather suitable budget for a team that wants do be a top tier team in pro road cycling. Personally i do believe some more established riders to sign for them in the future but from star and super star point of view they are rather covered for now in stage racing. They really can try to develop a future star or potentially super star too, they have the means and the time to do so.

Easy, they need to compete with the marginal gains budgets of Jumbo, UAE & Ineos. More staff, more research, more sports science, medical science, HQ upgrades, consultancy etc. How many staff are Bora at the moment? 40 staff maybe? Ineos & Jumbo are around double that number of staff supporting the same number of riders in the same number of races.

Ralph Denk mentioned (in the german Podcast Sportschau Tourfunk from 2nd Mai) that buying stars is not the plan, they want to develop iconic riders even if it take some years. He pointed on red bull activities in other sports, that they are always developing athletes and not buying the big stars of the sport
Well, Red Bull in other sports such as football develop players that eventually get sold to other teams so not really the stategy to mimic if you want to be at the very top of a sport. Then again with the long contracts that young riders are signed to these days the prospect of top riders ever moving teams is perhaps not that high.

Mathieu Kockelmann with his first victory in a race outside national championship or national level in the u23 ranks. He won a stage at the Grand Prix Orlen. This is a huge step back to Bora. Maybe he can secure a spot at the world tour squad, or he will go to the devo team and ride a lot with the world tour guys in smaller races.
 
The podcast is from two weeks ago, so I guess it's more likely they were referring to Pithie.

Ok, well quite what was expected right?
I think he could be the „next“ Simon Geschke type of rider. I fell like this is what he is at this point of his career (which is of course still plenty).
I assume at BORA he would have been a domestique only.

Seems according to PCS that Daniel Marrtinez will not be riding the Tour. He has otherwise been listed in their provisional Tour line up all year.
he yesterday said that there's no decision yet. The initial plan was to do the Tour as domestique, but Olympics + Vuelta could be a better fit (for him, I guess ;) )

"He no longer wants to ride with us or for us," BORA's team boss Ralph Denk explains in conversation with Eurosport. "He didn't tell me that personally, but he communicated it to the team."

"It was a misunderstanding on his part. We addressed who our leaders are and that he was going as a domestique," Denk continues. "We will do this professionally, he will still get his chance to race. We are grateful for what he has achieved for the team."

According to denk Buchmann and Martinez are still on the long list if the team wants to add another climbing domestique.

Don't think that is reall necessary. Hindley and Vlasov are probably enough as it won't be on Bora (or Red Bull) to make the race imo. The other guys in the selection are also decent to good climbers. With Roglic in the team and his habit to crash in the worst possible moments it could be a good plan to bring Denz, Haller and van Poppel to keep him safe in the flat stages.

Denz, Haller and Jungels, if van Poppel is cooked after the Giro, also works.
If Buchmann knows that he'll be just a climbing dom and be the team leader in the TdS instead you can bring him if he climbs well.

Would only pick one out of Haller/Van Poppel. Denz should be able to do most of the bodyguard duty on the flat stages. I don't think additional sprint/leadout guys would help Roglic on flat stages because it is still up to him to hold onto their wheel. More teammates in front of him won't solve the positioning issue.
Looking back at the last few years one of Jumbo/Visma's big advantages was the climbing ability of their big engines. Really helps when you don't have to rely on 63kg climbers to pace a reduced peleton. Jungels and Denz should be able to do that.
