An ITT at 2700m in January isn't the best indicator of anything, but those are some big gaps.
Poor showings from Bernal and Uran.

He was 5th in Colombian ITT and 2nd in RR last year and then won Algarve, he starts the season strong, then fades as he gets fatigued by Summer he says. Last season s second half was ruined by concussion in Le Tour though.
Probably a good thing that he'll be doing the Giro this year then. Hopefully he still have legs for that. After that he'll probably mainly be helping Roglic in the Tour and then we'll see if he has anything in the fall.

Deal is closed between Red Bull and Bora, no issues found with the buy-in.

If Red Bull wanted to enter road cycling why didn't they just replace Jumbo as they were looking for a big sponsor? Why go to Bora where there are already 2 sponsors locked in until the end of 2025? JV where already the dominant team they want. It will be hard to build that at Bora as most big riders already have long contracts at top teams. They have Roglic but he is past his best and not as good as Pogi/Vingo in the first place

I don't think they had the option to buy the Visma team. They want to be owners, not just sponsor.

Plus you could argue its a long term thing, Visma might be at the peak of their performance journey and the only way as Ineos have shown is then down again.

With Bora it's a cleaner slate than Vismas position, from which to build up for the future and be the next dominant team.
