Sounds like the definition of mental weakness to me - no confidence in your training or your coach(es), motivated by insecurity.

Pas tranquille. Tres, tres mal.

WTF. PED's must kill brain function. I swear I read this same nonsense in "Its not about the bike" 10 years ago.

:(

I cringe to think of all the plebs lapping up this PR as gospel truth. Hopefully we will get a few joining up in July to tell us how much harder Froome trains than Alberto et al.

Wouldn't other riders be insulted by this BS? I mean they can't take him seriously after reading this book, if they ever did.

More BS.

Contador attack was Barbbus's fault.

And he only attained 6km from the finish and Quintana was 30 meters ahead

Clearly Walsh's bullsh1t is in the italics...

Not a mention of a tailwind. Or a tactical masterclass!

But turning off your powermeter and doing an extra four hours is. All whist Contador is taking it easy....

Scary stuff

Overtraining doesn't exist.

oh to hell with it, I'm buying this. Its pure comedy gold.

and unlike Armstrong's fictional works, at least we know up front that this is nonsense.

And from the excerpts Walsh seems to be making more of a case to be suspicious of Froome than not. Could this be the most covert undercover operation ever? Bring down the empire from within, etc ....

Gentle(wo)men,
after 25000 posts in the Sky thread and 11000 in this thread, we finally have the inside scoop. Dawg and Little Richie train even harder than Sports Science Guru Kerrison designs for them, while those silly billy Johhny Foreigners Alberto and Nibs sit in the cafe sipping espresso and go for the occasional spin if the sun is out.

As if Bjarne Riis would subject his riders to something as strenuous as training in the Alps! He knows better than that.

Everybody knows that the "Alpe d'Huez" and "Military Camp" training scenes from Overcoming were shot indoors with a green screen. They were really in a Spanish movie studio loading up on churros con chocolat between takes

Sheesh, any USPS fan could have told you this ten years ago ;)

So, apparently his racing weight is 66kg and he averaged 459 watts up the Madone. That's 6.95 W/Kg for 30 min, seems legit.

While I could never trust Armstrong to do anything, if I ever did find myself alone, 1 on 1 with the sob I would like to show him the book and see his reaction.

I'm buying this only if there are The Marginal Pillows (with power meter) at least in the supporting role.

Firstly, let's hear from the Master (doper): What am I on? I'M ON MY BIKE! What are you on?

Yeah, this "training harder than others looks so stupid nowadays, there must be some hidden agenda, maybe Dawgie is trying to troll Dirtie into overtraining?

And there are more questions raised by these excerpts - why was he so obsessed only with Clentador and not other favorites, Piti, Burrito or Nairo (even during TdF)?

Also, spinning inefficient low gear (so he says) during the attack and NOT SHIFTING = freudian archetypal nigthmare "chaingate" dreams (on the marginal pillow)?

tbf, he says he attacked before that, and Quinatana was 30 meters ahead after he turned around to look for Contador

And sadly no sand shoes at the Melbourne Commonwealth games as Walsh had told us.... or maybe he changed into them for the actual time trial?

Just so much BS...

Still surprised about that one? Even the bike he rides is hardly bad for TT's. It's a Look which is itself not bad aerodynamically, has a flat position, disc wheel and a low spoke front. The whole story is just another Sky/DB myths to create an improbable hero.

The book seems awesome. Loving the tone created by words such as amigo etc while ever so subtly suggesting that the southern europeans are lazy. Combined with froome sporting the calvinist to the bone working ethic borrowed from LA this is a winner.

Co written by Schauble perhaps?

I bet Sally Jenkins is now crying about missing Froome's autobiography, this used to be her turf!

Walsh better be undercover to pop Froome or this will wipe out all his Armstrong work!

So you go against team orders, switch off power meters to hide it, then tell the world in a book ?

Might buy it. Seems like a good comedy.

Based on results so far this year, I only have one conclusion: Contador gave up coffee.

all of it stinks and when there is a smell in cycling it usually points to 'dirty cheats'

Correct. The Spanish are lazy and resort to underhand tactics. Just like the Columbians. Wiggins did all he could to undermine Froome. Even though Wiggijs was team leader he should have known better about the power of the Dawg.

Riis even gets some dirt been thrown at him. Labelled Mr. 60% he asks Froome to meet him in a..... wait for it..... a nightclub! for some contract talks. Clearly a drug deal was about to go down.

It's clear Alberto is a nice guy who chats to Froome and the book takes those snippets or conversation to turn Contador into a idiot or "amigo" who knows no better. And was becoming the Lance Armstrong of the new era.

"masters of the universe.." come on!!!

I laughed my *** off when I read that. I really love it when Walsh tries to capture the moment. Like this was a defining moment in cycling history.

Keep it coming Hog, this is as funny as I expected.
