"OK, Flipper, now just remember the moves as we rehearsed them. This is the 200 to 400 watt tango. And-a "1" and-a "2" and-a ready and go!"

Someone please explain to me how Froome can provide all that information about his power output during training now, but can't provide power information about races that occurred three years ago and longer? Like making public his power output before the 2011 Vuelta would give his competitors an advantage, but telling them what he does in training now or up the Madone, no problem at all?

Maybe he just assumes that his dirty, cheating rivals can't read English?

I swear to god, I'm half waiting to discover that all these quote are purely of your own creation, hog.

The line between parody and reality no longer exists.

I know. The Dawg is going to put me out of business!

No. For starters, the numbers are small and difficult to read from 1 x bike away, and require you to concentrate away from your own wheel - a recipe for disaster. Then you get sun glancing off the surface of the computer, making it more difficult to see.

And finally you don't care. If you're riding with them, you're doing the same power, so what if their HR is lower or higher. Irrelevant.

It's far more likely team mates discuss HRs and stuff as part of your day to day training camp interaction and it may have been interesting or noteworthy for his teammates the first time, but beyond that, not so much.

Froome accusing Contador of cheating the bike weight limits and using a "special lube" !

Is the whole book just more and more of this crap? I mean, wow, Froome's a bit conceited and nuts and creepy.

I cannot quite understand what anyone likes about this book. Even if you were a Froome fan (which does, admittedly, indicate to the world your bad judgement), the excerpts just sound plain terrible. Terrible!

I don't normally wish ill will to anyone but the more I read, of this utter bull the harder it is not wish ill will towards Froome. It would appear this guy couldn't lie straight in bed with his special mattress, pillows and hinky physiological abilities.

Hint to aspiring racers: if you want to change bikes, the best place to do it is 1 minute up the road, so you can jump back in when the peloton goes past.

Not at the base of the climb as the peloton rides away from you.

Better still if you can get a break on a downhill and use gravity and superior descending to get that time gap on the hubbards behind you without expending any energy.

Studying Froome's power data

Slongo revealed he has studied Froome's attacks in detail, using video content on the internet and television footage.

"I've studied his accelerations, how long they last and his cadence," he claimed

"Froome weighed between 65-66kg at the Dauphine, Contador was 63kg. They produced about 400-410 watts at threshold and when they attack, they can hold 430 watts for between 20-30 minutes. Froome accelerates for 20-30 seconds, with peaks of 450-480 wats. The he eases back and stays at 380-400 watts. Due to physiological limits, this phase can last between 10-15 minutes, not more."

The more i read wht this narcissist arrogant fool writes, the more i am respecting Lance Armstrong. the comparison between the two is so amazingly close.

Attacking in a descent. i think its called cojones.
iirc, it was about a bike without numbering that created the problem. all of us know which team is good at starting gossip.

I really want to know whether professional riders can actually recognize landscape and think of how lovely a town is. When i ride, it's usually abt the road in front, the curves ahead.

Contador is just a poor amigo that doesnt know what he is doing. Attacking downhill? Madness.

He needs to slow down on the coffee intake and learn some proper tactics.

The more I think of all the Contador references on The Alien's book, the more I believe Froome is deeply Obsessed & jealous of his success, in a way that he's annoyed by how much people still love & support the Spaniard, even in times where he wasn't at his best & during his ban.

The problem of course is The Alien being so blinded by his imaginary delirium of grandeur not to realize that, like anything in life-is not about winning by "smashing" & "blasting"--- it's simply about the "panache" - the "how"- that's what will remain in people's minds-- There always be praised the "Verbier" stage win, the "monte Etna" stage win, the "fuente de" stage win, and recently the "Tirreno Adriatico" stage whereas "Froome's Mont Ventoux" will be remained as the biggest joke ever along with the LA's victories, because of the ridiculous & intoxicating imagery produced in those occasions...

Interesting point, I believe you're right.

You left out the super genuine caveat at the end:
"I'm sure he just had bike problems."

Thanks for the clarification, Chris. One wouldn't want to be led to believe that you just planted a seed of doubt & suspicion about Contador to your noob followers. Great to see you set the record straight like that. Very charitable of you.

In fact, he didn't have bike problems :) Contador has a habit of switching to a lighter bike before the final climb. He likes to ride a heavier bike for the majority of the stage so that he can, you know, risk life and limb while throwing himself down the descent

Yet he wants us to believe he isn't obsessed with numbers.
