An interesting interview post-race in todays Cyclocross WC regarding Joris Nieuwenhuis.
Basically the head coach at Trek-Baloise couldn't wrap his head around what they did with him at DSM. He mentioned "under-training" and "Spartan-like futuristic unproven training methods".
I wouldn't be surprised if Nieuwenhuis quit road cycling simply because of how he was treated at DSM.
Nys said they’re using this year just for prep. Trying to accumulate as many points as possible for a better starting position next season, as well as trying to rebuild his CX body. Explosiveness being one of those things.I was watching in Sporza but my dutch isn't good to understand more than the basic. They talked about him losing his explosiveness and only be able to return to his best next year, right?
Man UAE will just sign anybody at this point. If I start racing again next spring and am active enough on social media I'm sure they will give me spell as a Stagiare

MyWhoosh is a UAE based platform with connection to the team, so you'll probably need to find some new Emirate social media site.Man UAE will just sign anybody at this point. If I start racing again next spring and am active enough on social media I'm sure they will give me spell as a Stagiare
Or throw some money at Durbridge.Instead of poaching Vine from Alpecin they should have tried to buy Dillier's contract instead.

Agree this is about PR

Poor Durbridge - BEX will kill him at the 2023 TDF if they bring three leaders in Matthews, Yates and Matthews - He should have left the team two years ago.
Jay Vine is staying with Alpecin.Instead of poaching Vine from Alpecin they should have tried to buy Dillier's contract instead.

Despite his size Laengen seems to be more useful on hilly terrain than on hectic flat stages. They really should send the Oliveira twins to ride more spring classics.Bjerg and Laengen will suffice.
What will the roles of Wellens and Bax be in a GT?
There is also Trentin and the Oliveira brothers. Lets not forget Finn Fischer-Black either. What type of rider will he be?
They had bad luck last year with the team in Tour. Trentin was supposed to start, right? Laengen had to leave because of covid mid race.
In the end, Pog could have needed any support he could get the way it turned out.
I dont think it is as catastrophic as some people would like to portray, even though I agree they could probably use at least one more experienced rouleur within the team. They only have 26 riders listed on PCS for next year, maybe there will be more signings confirmed soon.
It is obviously Matthews the sprinter and Matthews the mountain goat, who dropped everybody on Mende, he is talking about.
Whats the sandwiches bit about? Did he become some sort of chef/baker?Nick Van der Lijke returns to Riwal after a short stint making sandwiches.

Well, thats answered my question about what a Mywhoosh is!As I said it's about PR. This coming out 1 hour after signing the MyWhoosh champion.

Yeah, apparently he and his wife inherited a sandwich making restaurant from his in-laws but his wife had a bad back and couldn't endure the work, so now he's back as a bike rider.
One of the most bizarre things I've read in a while.
