TLR and Benji Naesen teased an interview with the RemGOAT tonight. I guess we'll hear where he rides next year.
And if they didn't ask that question, they're *** journalists.
In their teaser it shows already that they did ask the question.

I can't imagine he'll confirm that he is leaving the team right before the Vuelta so imo it's either going to be a confirmation that he stays or an evasive answer that he can't confirm anything as of yet.

I'm curious though if there are any other interesting scoops or stories in the podcast/interview.

In an interview in Cycling Weeky two/three weeks ago Unzue said that they have signed a new GT overall rider to lead the team next year, a really good performer, if a little under the radar.
I assume it's not one of these two, but maybe it is.

Theyd be so under the radar as to be near subterranean as picks for GT overall rider to lead the team with, you'd think the sponsors at least would want an AvV replacement who doesn't feel like we'll they might work out they might not so give them 5 years to develop.

Got to be someone in their 30s, won stages/races already, maybe Audrey Cordon Ragot kind of level or Ali Jackson.

Idunno, there are some strong climbers who are "a little" off the radar. Not ones that you'd call realistic leaders, at least for a team that already has, you know, Liane Lippert. But perhaps they might refer to something off the wall like Professor Kiesenhofer? Or... Lilibeth Chacón?

Not that I think they refer to either of those, but as examples of people who could do a good GC in "GT" type races thanks to climbing skills but are off the radar picks.

Unless it's Loana Lecomte or something. She rides for Canyon's MTB team.

If they've signed a GC leader, it can't be those two. Could be Magnaldi, Koppenburg, Steels or Peperkamp (though she doesn't have much leadership experience).

But if yaco is right and Faulkner is leaving Jayco, then it could also very well be her.

Faulkner is on the list of not signed for '24 yet, certainly fits the description, the one thing I'm not sure on is she had a strong 2022, but hadnt been in the reckoning in early 2023, her Strade call up was very late hence the whole glucose monitor mistake, and then to cap it all fractured her knee when a driver collided with her in training, which meant she's missed most of this season.

So you'd be signing a rider based on her performances from last year and coming back from a tricky injury.

She's certainly a name in the frame I think, whether they sign her though we shall have to wait and see

No, it wouldn't exactly be a risk-free signing, but I definitely wouldn't be surprised if she comes back stronger than ever.

I am very happy the cycling world has come together and decided not to pay this man 2 million a year, for now. Also, in the light of the INEOS exodus whilst getting nothing in return, this is a case of addition by subtraction.
I think Foss needs to do a top notch Vuelta, something like top 5 or close to top 5, to get 2 million a year in a new team. I'm still uncetain about is "true" level. His win in the ITT in last year Worlds was great, his 9th in the GC in the Giro was also good. But there isn't much besides that. No more good performances in the GTs and neither in one week races.

I believe he isn't going to the Vuelta.

If any rider needed to sign a new contract extension asap after a big result it was Foss. Now his negotiating position is way more fragile than a year ago. Now, in long term I think it would be even better for his future wages to agree to a more modest contract with leadership opportunities with Uno-X instead of looking for millions that now won't likely come.

I wonder why Ineos even wanted him, and I wonder what the highest bid is that Foss has gotten. I really think he has rejected offers that I would already find batshit crazy.

Foss' only top 10s in road stages/races are in Norwegian champs and Algarve. Then he gets like lower top 10s in ITTs.

it's certainly an odd development, apparently George Bennett and Carlos Verona were also supposed to sign Ineos initially, but it's not going to happen now

so what do we make of this? Maybe Evenepoel doesn't move to Ineos, but the two teams merge, as was rumoured earlier on?

well, if the rumors or Lefevere and Bakala wanting to sell the team I read last month are true...
that would mean a WT license would be free.

We need to be careful with Faulkner - She's not been at the same level since she caught COVID after the 2022 Giro - In saying that, although she has a fragile body, Jayco should have moved heaven and earth to keep her because she is their best rider.

Feline's the newest Trek signing. I feel like they've signed a million riders now, but they still have 8 spots left.
Every out of contract Italian + TGH going to Trek. No idea how well that's gonna work out, sone of their signings seem a bit retundat and don't make that much sense.

A team like Jayco seems to make much more focussed signings.

About Dani Martinez to Bora, maybe they already want to sign the replacement for Higuita one year earlier? Seems a bit expensive to sign him to replace freaking Konrad...
2022 spring Dani Martinez was actually world class, but went off the rails afterwards. Him on a results based contract makes sense.

They probably should have pulled her from the Tour last year (either before the race or after she had crashed hard during it). She looked pretty decent in Strade Bianche, but then the crash in Nokere Koerse set her back once again.

We obviously don't know how far she was from her best, when she got hit by that car, but at least it still seems she'll be able to make a return in Romandie next month.
