I'll have to wait for Sean Kelly to mention it when he talks about back in the day.You might have it confused with the beginning of the new fiscal year in the US.

That would be pefect for cycling. Vingegaard new Jumbo, Roglic Bora and Evenepoel Ineos.People from Evenepoel's entourage according to today's L'Equipe: "Everyone knows that Remco will never ride for Plugge. When the merger will happen, he will just sign his contract (already written) with Ineos. In 5 minutes, it will be done."

The question is, if Plugge still needs to do the merger without Evenepoel.

If their signing sponsorship deals in exchange for media exposure then they definitely need the mergerThat would be pefect for cycling. Vingegaard new Jumbo, Roglic Bora and Evenepoel Ineos.

AWP has a similar profile to all four of the young super talents UAE have now. Only time will tell.I don't think that's a disqualifying reason. They are probably going to be completely different types of riders. Although I wouldn't be surprised anything about AWP and how high he can reach...

Agree, but after the leaks of what roglic and remco have been offered i would think Vingegaard has already started knocking on Plugge's door.Jumbo's star riders have been underpaid for years. It's part of their 'win together' culture as underdogs. I think the agreement was riders earn less but get better support because the team used whatever money they had to buy other top riders on the market for extra strength in depth.
2 million or thereabouts per season has been the going rate since 2019. That's for Rog & Van Aert (according to all the cycling wages leaks).
The point is surely that'll explode now because Evenepoel is going to ask for a lot. If the new Visma merger team pays him what he wants, then I assume Vingegaard (his wife certainly) will be knocking on Plugge's door asking for something a 2x TdF champion 'deserves'. Then what will Wout van Aert think? It can snowball.
Thats a huge signing, and not really a signing that I like. Way, way too top-heavy at the moment.
Just imagine if they all have the same "No domestique clause" in their contracts 🤣Thats a huge signing, and not really a signing that I like. Way, way too top-heavy at the moment.

Only a 3 year contract like do they even believe in him?Thats a huge signing, and not really a signing that I like. Way, way too top-heavy at the moment.

If it doesn't pan out, its not like they will lose that much, so its just a low risk-high reward kind of signing like all youngsters are. I think thats the big problem. They can just swing on every talent out there, and if 1/3 pans out, its still more than worth it. The rest doesn't really get a chance, unfortunately, and are left to fight for scraps and 2nd/3rd tier talents.Let's see if he will be a new Andrés Ardila or a new Tadej Pogacar.
