According to portuguese newspaper O Jogo, Rui Costa is leaving Intermarche for another WT team.
They couldn't reach an agreement for next year, because Circus will reduce its investment in the team by 50%, (something to do with belgian law and gambling sponsorships).
I hope he finds a team, his acumen, experience and a stage win at La Vuelta are valuable assets for any WT team.

That's not confusing. That's what happens if you don't really have the money to always sign the riders that you would like.
Yeah, White commented about this the other day. The sponsors can't afford to pay the young riders being offered bigger contracts in Jumbo, UAE and Ineos and he can't afford to buy riders already at the top level either, all he can do is ride the wave of progressing talent until they go and make the best of their talent for more pay, or guarantee leadership at races in return for a lower salary.

of course, but I does sound like stepping up to PT is a goal at least indeed - although probably not next year yet, going by what Volpi said.

Eolo has just announced Penalver as their sprinter for next year, btw, so I guess that won't make things easier for Mareczko.

I'd rather have Mareczko to be honest. Peñalver might be able to climb better, but he's a worse bet if you want to win races and score UCI points.

I agree, but it's the 3rd time that Mareczko is on the market since Eolo stepped up to PT level, so it doesn't really seem like their interest is particularly high.

But with Missaglia and Wadecki two of his former CCC DSs are now at Q36.5, so maybe that could be an option as well - although I'd think one sprinter who can't climb (Moschetti) is normally enough.

I just see Peñalver as being a bit of a weird pick, but since he's only been handed a one eyar contract, it doesn't seem like they expect a whole lot of him. so there could possibly still be room for another sprinter.

World junior ITT champion Felicity Wilson-Haffenden has signed with Trek, with means they now have 5 of this year's most promising junior riders on the team. It'll be interesting to see how this clear focus on the future is going to work out for the team and the riders.

There are still some exiting looking juniors who are still without confirmed contracts for next year, world RR champion Julie Bego at the top of the list.

And 3 of the current women's Junior World Champions, ITT, Cyclocross & XC MTB.

I dare say they'll throw their hat into the ring for Albert Philipsen.....but may face stiffer competition.

It is a disaster for Jayco that they've missed out on Wilson-Haffenden. I assumed that she would go to the Jayco Conti feeder team Liv as I doubt she is ready to jump into the World Tour - This is an inauspicious start for the Jayco/LIV project.
