What was up with that? One year they suddenly had tons of Argentinians, then the next year there were no Argentinians but lots of Colombians. Then this year zero colombians. Some weird pay-to-ride things or sponsor deals?

I assume that must have been the case.
BAI - Sicasal - Petro de Luanda also have some kind of Spanish partnership going on at the moment despite being an Angolan team.

Colombians for next year in the WT. The only one that I am surprised about is Harold Tejada. I thought I heard a commentator in the past races say that He already has a new contract with Astana. He had a decent year.

Rivera got 2 year extension... Just, how?

Isn't he friends with Bernal?

Anyway, each team needs a few of those guys who don't have very much ambition and are not upset to miss GTs and stuff from their calendar and are basically just there to make up numbers and be domestiques in smaller races. It's not like Rivera is totally incompetent, he finished 2 stage races in top10 overall this year.

German Dario Gomez would just be Mario Gomez.
Wouldn't he be

Burgos BH will announce today the signing of Giorgios Bouglas. These additions resemble early 2010 Euskaltel hunt for points.

I can live with the signing of Saimbayar who is somewhat talented (at least he is better than quota and pay-to-ride cyclists that have traditionally populated lower italian and spanish pro conti teams) and Jackson who is very young, fast, and has tons of upside, but this one is just atrocious.

They should just pick up someone like Edgar Cadena instead.
Overall I actually like their roster for next year.

Besides signing points, Bouglas might actually be usefull aswell, who else is capable of leading out Jackson?
But they're not signing points, are they? The system isn't like it was in 2013 when Euskaltel signed people for their points, as far as I know. The points 'stay' with the team that scored them, not the rider. Or am I just very misinformed about this?

Anyway, Burgos-BH do Asian races and Bouglas has done well in Asian races. He's even able to incur fines on other teams. What's not to like?

You're right about the current system, but on paper they're still taking some risks hoping that these riders will be able to score points in a (possibly) more European heavy race program, because they want to keep getting Vuelta invites.

And the more different nationalities you have in your team, the more championships you can get results and points in.
