Amazingly, it looks like (with the addition of Hess), there will be seven women's conti teams next season.

As you say, the domestic calendar has been massively reduced, so it seems they're focussing abroad for experience/exposure, and gambling that this will bring additional sponsorship?

And yet, only two men's conti teams. At a time when there's never been so many young British riders joining the WT?
Perhaps there are more wealthy young women than men because most of them are not paid and most actually contributing financially.

Hess have signed Imogen Cotter as the 2nd new rider to join the team, just for a year, not sure if that shows the level of their intent or not.

At least they're not making too many promises for noe. In Cotter's case there probably wasn't a whole lot of teams prepared to offer her a multi-year deal, but I hope for her sake, she'll be able to recover further through the 2024 season and earn herself another contract. It would be a shame if her career ends before it really started.

Sbaragli heading to Corratec according to Gazzeta.
Good transfer for the team.
A bit surprising to me, he would still be a great domestique for the majority of WT teams. But maybe he wants to have one more crack at riding for himself.

In other news, the Mongols are coming to Europe again, 8 centuries later. On a more serious note, it will be cool to see Sainbayar get his shot on a bigger circuit.

George Jackson and now Sainbayar. Burgos is surely going to conquer the Asian calendar now. All they need to do now is to add Jakub Mareczko.

Hell yeah, great to See this steppe Warrior getting a Chance at PCT Level!

Months ago I hoped and wrote that here that Sainbayar would move up to PCT, and now it became true… Very well deserved.

Also George Jackson was amazing these last months, he probably is a future WT rider.

By the way, normally, Oscar Sevilla should be a candidate for a PCT contract, after 2023. Fingers crossed!… :)
Don't forget Alarcon and Najar😉

New Spanish CT team on the way - Illes Balears Arabay Cycling. It's the team Lluis Mas was being linked with and he will "will be in charge of managing the sports area, and could even act as technical director and run with the team jersey if his planning requires it."

No news of other signings yet, but the team will run in Spain (obv), Portugal and France.

They're already an elite amateur team in Spain so is presume that the bulk of the team will be drawn from those riders, people like Pau Llaneras and Edgar Curto, plus a handful of more experienced pros grafted on top. Continental teams in Spain do tend to be fairly weak owing to the paucity of 2.1 and 2.2 level races making it less attractive than saving the money and being an elite amateur team, so they need to have some level of ambition to make it worth it, especially as for the most part the squad are 23 and under so it's not like they're one of the Galician squads full of journeymen and ex pros either.

Is it correct that Electro Hiper Europa was the only Spanish continental team this season and therefore this new team will be only the 2nd Spanish continental team next season?

As a Conti-team they of course can't take part in any of the Spanish WT-races, but there should be some opportunities among the many Spanish races at .Pro, .2 and .1 level.

If they get a couple of interesting riders I guess Volta a Portugal isn't far away?
