Liv AlulaJayco continue to lose riders who are developing well. She was actually doing better than Manly in the Manly role. I thought she was given enough opportunities, however, she should have been sent to the TDF.

They are losing Manly too apparently so who knows.

That was the point of my post. Manly is leaving because she does not want to be a puncher which is the role designated by Jayco, while Gasjkenn is filling that role. Anyway, there is always a chance that a Norwegian or Danish rider will want to join Uno X.

Dat Julian Alaphilippe niet bij Soudal-Quick Step zou blijven, was al eventjes duidelijk. Dat Tudor zijn nieuwe bestemming is, is vandaag officieel bekendgemaakt. De Fransman wil bij de ploeg van Fabian Cancellara scoren. Hij tekende voor 3 jaar. Tudor trok ook al Marc Hirschi aan.

I don’t know. Since Jayco and Liv merged seems like the dynamics in the team changed and some people probably feel like they came off better than others. Things like selecting your TDF team at the beginning of the year so they can all finish outside the top 20 might be a bit annoying to riders who didn’t get a chance to prove themselves 🤷🏻‍♀

Normally when cyclists leave that team they end up doing pretty well so I hope the same goes for everyone leaving this year.

This transfer was all but confirmed since he came out of the womb, but Bahrain did solid business with Zak Erzen. Very talented kid, and a leader of a new wave of talented Slovenians (until Omrzel takes over, that is). They also signed Vlad Van Mechelen, which too was just a shoe-in given the ties between Cannibal and Bahrain. Can't say I think his stop at DSM was a success, but he'll find his place in the classics/sprinter team no doubt. Thirdly is Max van der Meulen, which also was a foregone conclusion and yet another DSM waste. I view him as a major project, as currently he can do very little other than climb. There is also Daniel Skerl, but I do not know who he is.

With Borremans and Omrzel already having deals and Lenny locked up for a million years, Bahrain are pretty much set for the distant future. I reckon Dunwoody is next.

Obviously was to be expected given his family, but I find Bahrain a horrible choice for development for his type. They simply don't do the typical smaller Belgian or even French races that suit him a lot. In general they are the team that does the least amount of smaller races. It's not good for youngsters at all, or at least not for youngsters that need to take another step before they're even close to WT ready. Vlad was somewhat disappointing at DSM, he definitely isn't the only one in that devo team the last few years so it could be a team thing, but I think he would've been a way better fit to go to a Belgian team for example.

On the DSM note, Barhoumi left after half a year. When are juniors going to stop signing for that team. I will never get it.

Good summary!

I think the signing talented youngsters together with Ellingworth is a smart move. Bahrain clearly don't have the big cash, but making one big signing and a lot of prospects is imo a clever strategy.

Hirschi need to be on a good team to win.
As I said on here few weeks ago 90% of his wins at UAE came from being on a team with many cards in the final. He is often the smartest but not the strongest.

Hirschi also has Hirschi as priority. So indeed sharing races with Alaphilippe might not have been his biggest desire.

I think Hirschi peaked in 2020. Relative to competition he will never be better than that.
