Ciro from Gazzetta “confirms” Alaphilippe to Tudor:

So that likely means Tudor with both Giro and Tour wildcard next season? As they are a sponsor of the Giro and have some good Italians they should be locked there, and with Alaphilippe they should also get the Tour.

I can imagine a Giro team build around Hirschi, Dainese and Brenner and a Tour team around Alaphilippe, De Kleijn and Storer. Should be two teams that can bring in decent results in sprint stages and maybe win stages from breaks.

With Alaphilippe Tudor have 28 riders for next season. Will be interesting to see if and how they fill the last two spots. Asgreen has been rumored, but can they really afford another big salary?

I think Tudor will get their Giro wild card again, but not the Tour. then, from 2026 with the new 3 years WT license, we'll see what happens

Biggest question is, who is next in UAE line to get the Hirschi treatment? I reckon Vermeersch would make a killer addition to win next years Drome Classic, but for giggles and all I would love to see Ayuso get sent to the Giro d'Abruzzo and Eschborn-Frankfurt.
Christen is already being groomed into the role! Two 1.1. wins already, and he did ride both the Giro d'Abruzzo and Eschborn-Frankfurt. :D

I don't get this narrative that UAE treated Hirschi bad? He also re-signed with them ones.
+ he won a lot. He was a big succes at UAE, and for both parties. Fair enough he want to try something else, but he has had some good years although he had many injuries in the first 2 years.

If we talk replacement at UAE, I pretty sure Christen, Morgado and Narváez will take over his wins + add more on top.

Where is this confirmation? I know it's been rumoured for a few months already but I don't see the official announcement?

I read it on twitter on a trustworthy account (date of news August 14th) and PCS has updated the information on Rota's contract accordingly. Didn't read any team statement but I assume the news is fairly accurate and thought it might have come from an official source.

Tudor looking for a WT spot I suppose by going the route of lots of points at minor races.
Not happening before after this cycle anyway. First option is 2029 for WT. It's realistic that they can catch Astana, but the points gap in the current cycle to Cofidis, Arkea, DSM and Uno-X is a vast canyon that can't be made up in a year.

They should be able to bag the "best pro team" spot and get auto invites to all the WT one-days aftyer next year. Uno-X are currently holding this and is very like to do so next season as well.

Uno-X is interesting as a competitor for this. A lot of people really like them, but what they are actually good at is farming points in the belgian 1.1 one days. They send their best team to "chatGPT generated" belgian races and hoard points. In WT they typically make little impact. Playing the game to perfection imo. Tudor and the other teams need to up their game to compete.

Ingvild Gåskjenn has signed with Uno-X for 2 years after Benson was floating around that she wanted to leave Liv-Jayco. Makes sense, she has had great results this year and will get more opportunities here.

Liv AlulaJayco continue to lose riders who are developing well. She was actually doing better than Manly in the Manly role. I thought she was given enough opportunities, however, she should have been sent to the TDF.

Signing a 1.Pro merchant and signing an older QuickStepper, infamous for having departing riders always, always underperform elsewhere, who is already underperforming whilst at QuickStep to begin with. Recipe for disaster. Just give me the money instead, I'll make good use of it.
I can't see Alaf underperforming worse at Tudor. Question is whether his recent run of good form is meant as a dig at Lefevere or if he's finally over his injuries ans crashes and is fully motivated...

And i'm not alone apparently. It's the best possible description of Elfstedenronde, Heylen Vastgoed Heistse Pijl, Tour of Leuven - Memorial Jef Scherens, antwerp-port-epic etc.

Still can't imagine that winning Heylen Vastgoed Heistje Pijl is worth more than 2 stages at the Dauphine. UCI masterclass.

Merckx never won the Heiste Pijl, but he did win 2 stages in the Dauphiné so we can conclude that the latter is way easier :p
