The normal EF deal seems to be low pay but freedom to pursue individual results plus a loud kit to draw attention to yourself. After you collect your chips it's natural to cash in with a team that will pay for UCI points. I think it used to be the case you could also trade in results for elite gregario duties and a more comfortable retirement at places like Sky (or money and bad support riders at a mom n pop shop like Total Energies), but these days you can skip the race results and just use your power meter readout as your résumé.

Now we will see if the weird helmet and Lab71 paint really did anything to help with results.

Infusion of Chinese money.

TBH I thought Bettiol was hugely underperforming since winning Flanders but this year he's looking like a grade A rider. I would bet he's on 1.5 million plus salary at Astana (and I wouldn't be surprised to see a team name change).

Amber van der Hulst will ride for the Liv Jayco CT team for the rest of the season before joining the WWT outfit in 2025. Artery issues made her miss the entirety of last season, and it took three surgeries before they were fixed earlier this year. Her former team manager at Liv, Eric van den Boom, kept in touch with her and has now helped her get a new contract at the merged team.

TBH, Realini is disappointing me this year. I took her in a few games and she's not bringing the return I expected. She doesn't seem to climb as well as last year.

I was assuming, they've tried to hold her back a little to avoid her losing form at the end of the season like last year. But the crash in the Vuelta certainly didn't help, and her weaknesses on flat roads and descents also seem much more evident this year. However we probably have to wait until Alpe d'Huez to see how strong she really is at the moment.

Its a decent throw at the stumps by Jayco. She's definitely WT level.

Rumours have been confirmed about Rota extending with Wanty until 2026.

From the notable riders (points-wise) only Teunissen , Mihkels (both seemingly out), Marit and Herregodts remain unconfirmed.

Then we have Calmejane, Smith, De Pooter, Taco (i'm guessing he will stay an extra year if he is able to recover) and Paquot also unconfirmed, while Planckaert, Taaramae and Van Poppel seem out.

Luca Van Boven is to be announced soon and wouldn't be surpirsed if they promote Simone Gualdi for next year.

Ciro from Gazzetta “confirms” Alaphilippe to Tudor:

So that likely means Tudor with both Giro and Tour wildcard next season? As they are a sponsor of the Giro and have some good Italians they should be locked there, and with Alaphilippe they should also get the Tour.

I can imagine a Giro team build around Hirschi, Dainese and Brenner and a Tour team around Alaphilippe, De Kleijn and Storer. Should be two teams that can bring in decent results in sprint stages and maybe win stages from breaks.

With Alaphilippe Tudor have 28 riders for next season. Will be interesting to see if and how they fill the last two spots. Asgreen has been rumored, but can they really afford another big salary?
