I thought there might be a chance that SD Worx would either have Sina Frei rejoin the team or employ Laura Stigger on a similar deal, but instead it's Steffi Häberlin who's making the move from MTB to ride for them.

She's had some promising results in the Swiss WT races she's done with the national team, so it will be interesting to see what she can do as a full time road rider. She's started late in cycling, has done running in the past and is studying medicin, so she's basically a shorter version of Marlen Reusser.

Who is the cheapest domestique who was as great an asset in the Tour this year as Moscon was?
This debate is not worth taking on as it will inevitably be a subjective assessment of who did what when the TV camera was focused on the peloton, and it is impossible to know what difference it really make to the end result?

I can of course mention tons of riders who did way more than Moscon and is never talked about or signed by big teams. Chris Harper for instance.

How do you know his salary and should only this years be considered? I obvisouly referred to him being overrated by people in general and have been making big money for years without offering much in return. Lefevere probably gave him what he is worth.

His one-year contract with QS was at the WT minimum wage.

Yeah, as I said, Lefevere probably gave him what he is worth.

I take his enourmous fall in value to mean that he was very overrated for many years. Was there a worse investment than Moscon in the Astana years? Even at Sky/Ineos he was very highly touted, but delivered so little.

A possibility to sign Moscon can be the contract length. A domestique that rides for a small wage and sign a one year contract (?) with huge experience in stage races and cobbled classics, and he is not blocking space in the squad for 2026 - sounds good to me.
2024: Mailand San Remo, Ronde, Roubaix, Tour de France
2023: Roubaix, Amstel, Fleche Wallone, Giro, Tour de France, Il Lombardia

In total 8 Grand Tours, and 25 classics - riders like Pithie, Lazkano, Herzog, van Dijke x2 can learn a lot from him in the classics and maybe he can deliver a result on his own.

All in all not that bad as it sounds first. You can´t sign only super talents or top riders.

I am not following the discussion but that's not even remotely the same kind of rider? Also wouldnt call him a domestique and also not cheap anymore.
But he was one during Le Tour and he probably was cheap coming from the Dutch amateur scene.
Anyways...

HLN reports that Johan Price-Pejtersen is on his way to Alpecin. Figures, he has a nice quiff.

After doing next to nothing in his first season with Movistar, Rémi Cavagna and the team seem to end the contract (running through the 2026 season) mutually. It is rumored that he will sign with Groupama-FDJ.

I think we all knew that was not going to go well at Movistar for the TGV of Clermont-Ferrand. He's a quality rider who wasted enormous amounts of energy in futile breaks in WT races. He should go back to basics and win a few French cup races with FDJ or Cofidis/Total/Arkea.

I think he also had difficulties with language issues and feeling isolated as a result.
